Subreddit Rules
  1. This subreddit is for established YouTube creators only: r/YouTubers is a community for people who are already creating content on YouTube and want to improve their channels, strategy, and craft. It is not for people who are “thinking about starting,” have not uploaded yet, or are just here as viewers/fans. Basic “How do I start a channel / get views / get monetized?” questions and general YouTube troubleshooting are not allowed. Subreddits for New YouTubers exist - use them instead.
  2. No self-promotion or engagement begging: You may not link your own videos or channel in posts or comments, or ask others to share theirs, except where explicitly allowed (e.g., the Monthly Show-Off Thread and properly formatted Review/Critique posts)
  3. “check out my channel,” “Is my latest video good?”, “sub for sub,” “watch time exchanges,” or “DM me for collab/Discord” posts or comments. Promotion of non-YouTube content (apps, tools, services, coaching, courses, etc.) or referral/affiliate codes is never allowed.
  4. Review & Critique Posts Have Strict Format and Requirements: [Review Video] and [Channel Critique] posts are heavily regulated to keep them useful and fair. Misuse of these posts will result in loss of privileges or a full ban. These posts will be restricted by User Flair. Refer to the Wiki for the specific format and rules for these posts.
  5. No Spam, Surveys, Services, or Hoodwinkery: Posts or comments that exist primarily to sell, promote, or drive traffic to a product, service, app, platform, course, survey, or website are considered spam and you will be banned for it. This includes “feedback forms,” “market research,” “beta tests,” and disguised self-promo (“I found this great tool…”). Any kind of trickery, auto-subscribing links, or failure to disclose your relationship to what you’re linking will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
  6. Be Civil and Stay on Topic: Keep discussion professional and respectful. Personal attacks, harassment, bigotry, or dog-piling are not permitted. This subreddit is for creator-side discussion, not viewer gossip or drama: no threads about other YouTubers’ personal lives, cancel culture, or “what about this YouTuber?” posts. General YouTube “news” or rants are only allowed when they’re clearly framed around how it affects creators and their work.
  7. Posting Requires Verified Flair and Ongoing Good Standing: To post or comment here, you must have a user flair obtained by reading the rules and agreeing to them in the pinned instructions post. Additional flair levels (based on your subreddit karma and participation) unlock more types of posts, such as Tips & Tricks, Review/Critique threads, and Show-Off participation. Poor-quality comments or posts will result in loss of privileges. Misuse of Post Flairs or attempting to subvert the system will result in an immediate permanent ban.
  8. We Do Not Issue Temporary Bans: This subreddit attracts a lot of spam, low-quality content, and lost users; it is extremely labor-intensive to run and therefore we DO NOT give second chances. Either you abide by the rules or you get banned permanently. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse - they are right here in white and black (or black and white if you're a Light Mode user)
