Subreddit Rules
  1. No Posting Work: Samples of writing, whether for critique, self-promotion, or general sharing, may only be posted in the weekly self-promotion and critique thread. Requests for feedback on ideas, or for writing partners or groups may also only be posted in the critique thread.
  2. Posts should be thoughtful and useful to a broad community of writers: We ask that users frame their posts so they are useful to multiple people. If your post is more suitable for a daily or weekly thread, it will be removed and you will be directed there.
  3. Posts that contain any of our [prohibited or stale topics](https://www.reddit.com/r/writing/wiki/rules/prohibited-and-stale-topics/) will be removed.
  4. No Generative AI: /r/writing is a place for human-created writing.
  5. We do not allow posts or comments that appear to have been generated, edited, or proofread by a generative AI tool.
  6. Posts and comments that mention AI (either negatively or positively) will be removed. Deliberately avoiding filters to mention the subject will result in a ban.
  7. Submission Calls Requirements/AMAs: Please message modmail for all submission calls and AMAs. Any posted without moderator approval will be removed.
  8. Calls for submissions (including posts about general writing work) must include: 1) payment information 2) submission deadlines 3) rights requested 4) any other relevant information.
  9. Directing to a website to answer these questions is not allowed. Please limit yourself to one post per publishing cycle.
  10. Civility and Community: Treat other people with decency and respect. We encourage healthy debate and discussion, but we will remove antagonistic, caustic, or otherwise belligerent posts. We moderate on tone rather than language.
  11. Hate speech will be removed. Please report any instances of offensive talk, and the mods will deal with them; do not police the subreddit yourself. Internet vigilantism and doxxing will not be tolerated.
  12. This also includes call-out threads, genre/literary-bashing, and "response" threads.
  13. Minimum Post Requirements: We require any post made to be flaired when posting. Posts flaired with "Other" will be held for moderator review.
  14. Posts that are too short, present no thoughtful content, do not appear to attempt to generate any discussion, or those with unclear titles will be removed as Low Effort posts. One or two line posts will almost *never* be adequate.
  15. Questions that can be answered with minimal research will also be removed under this rule.
