Subreddit Rules
- Do not body shame.: Please comment on peoples tattoos only unless the poster requests otherwise. This community is not here to judge people on things such as weight or general physical appearance. Users breaking this rule will be banned.
- Post must ask a specific question regarding a tattoo or tattoo design.: Please only make a post if you have a specific question. This includes having a specific title and having a description of your question.
- Posts that appear to be compliment fishing or posts that are too vague may be removed. Explaining your question and giving specific details helps ensure that you are able to get the help that you need as well as helps prevent low effort and engagement farming posts.
- NSFW potential infections.: If you think your tattoo is infected, please NSFW the image.
- Healed scars of any kind are NOT considered nsfw even if they haven't fully faded. They are a normal part of the human body and we won't make people censor themselves or "cover up" because of them.
- Provide detailed and constructive advice.: When commenting, please make sure to provide useful advice in as much detail as possible. Sarcastic and generally unhelpful comments will not be tolerated.
- Be respectful to others: Please do not harass other users. We are all here to either give advice or to get advice there is no need to be rude or harass others.
- Violators will have their post/ comment(s) removed and may be subject to a ban depending on number, frequency, and severity of the offense(s).
- Unfortunately this needs to be said but anyone sexually harassing another person with be immediately perma banned.
- No questions about pricing/tipping. : Pricing and tipping varies wildly by artist and area. Because of this, it's usually not helpful to poll the community asking how much a tattoo may cost or what you should tip, and the best answer always is to contact your artist or shop and ask for pricing and ask about tipping norms for their shop and location.
- This also includes questions about pricing after you have already gotten the tattoo. For the same reasoning as above
- No vague titles: Make sure you include a description of your issue within the title of your post. "Is this normal", "help" and "advice please" are extremely vague titles and you are less likely to receive advice if you do this.
- No Spam/Promotions: We asked that we you please don't use this sub as a place for personal promotion such as your tattoo business.
- We also ask that you don't spam comments and low effort posts so that we can have room for advice people need.
- No crossposts: To keep with the text only aspect and overall uniqueness of the sub, we do not allow crossposts. We can't risk spam either!
- No discrimination or hate speech.: Discrimination and hate are not welcome here. Use of discriminatory or hateful speech or terms may result in an immediate permanent ban.
- This includes but is not limited to discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, sex, religion, mental health, disabilities and defending ice.
- This includes tattoos of hate symbols or that promote hate of any kind.
- If you are asking a question about a cover up for a hate tattoo as long as you are genuine you may do so.
- No personal Information : We don't allow the sharing of anyone's personal information. This includes links to social media. Unfortunately we have had issues in the past with people using this to encourage people to harass others.
- No AI allowed: Here we support our real human tattoo arists. We do not allow the use or promotion of ai here. If you would like help with a design real art is available for inspiration online and you can talk to your tattoo artist with your ideas.
- Unfortunately, we had to separate this and make it its own rule as how it was written before apparently was unclear
