Subreddit Rules
- Only spider identification posts are allowed: It seems obvious we know, but post that aren’t requesting help identifying spiders will be removed.
- Be nice to each other: Don’t be needlessly antagonising or abusive. It’s fine to disagree but try to keep things civil.
- See the [Reddiquette guide](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette) for more clarification on what is acceptable.
- Posts must include the country where the photo was taken: Knowing the location where you saw the spider greatly helps with accurate identification.
- No spider hate!: This community is dedicated to the identification of spider species from around the world.
- We recognise that arachnophobia is an issue, however we ask that you do your best to maintain respect for the spiders as well as our users.
- No gaslighting into false species!: Please don't make up facts, use AI, or gaslight people by identifying obviously false or made-up species.
- If you're not 100% sure on an ID, consider not commenting or mark it as such (Nqa, Not completely sure, etc.)
- Medically significant spiders.: If you believe the pictured spider is a medically significant, please ensure you are 100% correct before commenting. We don’t want to scare anyone unnecessarily.
- Please also include sources so OP can verify for themselves.
- Arachnophobia awareness.: Please keep in mind at all times that many people coming here for identification are arachnophobic, we ask that you keep your comments appropriate as not to cause undue stress or fear.
