Subreddit Rules
- Be civil and no breed hate.: The use of patronizing, disrespectful, hateful, or insulting language will not be tolerated. This includes replies to posts insulting the user, their pug, or actions of either.
- Additionally, posts meant to incite discourse are not permitted. (eg "Why do people hate pugs?")
- NO MEDICAL ADVICE! : Generally speaking, posts requesting serious medical help, advice, etc. are prohibited. Obviously if it's serious, bring your animal to a vet as quickly as you can. However we also recognize that bringing your baby to a vet immediately may not be an option and you are desperate for any kind of health or input. Please message mods first for posting any kind of help request. Also visit r/AskVet for more help.
- No sale/breeding/adoption solicitations.: Content relating to the sale, studding, or specific adoption solicitations of pugs are prohibited.
- If you are interested in a pug, please contact your local shelter or American Kennel Club for authorized breeders.
- No self-promotion/vote/text posts unless approved by mods beforehand.: If you wish to post about a service or product you are affiliated with, you must message the moderators first or your post may be taken down.
- Posts soliciting "votes" for contests are also not permitted.
- Due to a high volume of spam posts created utilizing the "text post" feature, our small team of volunteer moderators are prohibiting text posts.
- No drop ship spammers or participating in spam posts.: Posts relating to the sale of t-shirts/sweaters/art prints/mugs without approval of the moderators will result in the permanent ban of the user. If you participate in a thread asking questions such as "where can I get this?" you may also face banning. (This is a common strategy of drop ship spammers with multiple accounts)
- If you are genuinely curious about an item please message the seller directly.
- No external links as posts: Please use only direct uploads of pictures or videos. External links (to a video for example) may be used in the body of the post, provided it is not spam.
- No A.I.: Posts or comments that contain A.I. will be removed.
- No GoFundMe or related posts without permission from mod team first: If you are in a serious crisis situation and want to ask the community for help by posting a GoFundMe or similar post, message the mods for permission first.
- No Politics : There's more than enough subreddits already with tons of politics on them., keep any and all political stuff out of here.
- No Baseless Callouts - Avoid Drama: Please do not use the comment section to accuse OPs/other commenters of wrongdoing without firm evidence. Our sub is not for picking fights over posts/comments someone finds personally objectionable when it is not objectively wrong (illegal, reckless, actual Reddit violation, etc.)
- If a post or comment violates r/pugs or Reddit’s rules, report it.
- If it seems dishonest and detrimental but does not necessarily fit a reportable violation, please use ModMail and we will be happy to investigate.
