  2. posting of Protected Health Information (PHI). This includes links or images of PHI. We also do not allow clinical vignettes, anecdotes, or stories that are so specific they risk identifying a patient.
  3. No solicitation of medical advice: You may not request medical advice or share health-related personal anecdotes about yourself, family, acquaintances, or celebrities.
  4. You may not inquire about care provided or discuss billing disputes.
  5. Clinical discussions and management of cases amongst healthcare providers are allowed - if you are soliciting a diagnosis your post will be removed.
  6. Professionalism, civility, and good faith participation: Keep discussions civil and respectful. Personal attacks, excessive profanity, and trolling are not allowed
  7. brigading, or solicitation of brigading. You may NOT take content from r/physicianassistant and screenshot, copy, or cross post it to any other sub.
  8. Users who attempt to hijack posts to steer conversation towards a pet issue, or who show a pattern of participation that suggests a personal crusade, will be banned at mod discretion.
  9. Evidence-based medicine & sources: Posts that rely on or reference guidelines or new scientific evidence should also directly link this material. Research should be peer-reviewed, from reputable medical organizations, or established news sources.
  10. Sensationalized or misleading titles will not be accepted. Anti-medicine, anti-science propaganda is not permitted in this sub.
  11. Use your resources / independent effort: Please use a descriptive post title. Titles like “job offer” or “help” are not permitted.
  12. We expect users to read and research their question or topic prior to posting and to share what they have already done to answer their question.
  13. If your post is poorly researched, lazy, has recently been asked/answered, or is unlikely to promote robust discussion it will be removed at moderator discretion.
  14. No specific pre-PA or PA school questions: Our goal is to maintain a space for practicing PAs to focus on their careers and issues related to those careers. So, this subreddit does not permit questions about the process of becoming a physician assistant.
  15. This includes *all* personal journey questions (could/should I be a PA) and posts with a focus on PA school or pre-PA pathways.
  16. No filesharing of copyrighted material: You may not request nor share copyrighted material. This includes things such as textbook PDFs, access to online learning platforms, and documents containing proprietary information or data.
  17. Focus on PA: Generally speaking our focus is on the PA profession, so posts and comments that are primarily discussing other subs or health professions are removed.
  18. You may not directly hyperlink to other subreddits within posts or comments. Posts may not be reposts or screenshots of other subreddit content.
  19. No advertisements, promotions, surveys, or solicitation
  20. survey requests (formal or informal), advertising or promotional listings allowed. This includes job posts/requests and links or images of real job postings, even for mockery.
  21. No posts about buying or selling items, including medical and office equipment.
  22. No memes, comics, etc: Memes, comics, images, or links to media (YouTube, news, etc) without accompanying discussion and explanation will be removed.
  23. New or educational content from well established sources should be accompanied by discussion.
  24. Account karma required: In an effort to reduce spam and self-promotion, all users need karma and an account with sufficient account age to post.
  25. Specific single-use throwaway accounts are not allowed. Automod will remove new accounts from participation here. Please do not contact moderators asking for exceptions to this rule.
