Subreddit Rules
  1. Please follow the reddiquette: Don't be dicks to each other and don't violate reddit's site-wide rules. They exist to make this place better.
  2. Posts must either feature a cat, or discuss a cat.: This is a cat sub. Concerned with cats.
  3. The cat must not be yours, apart from updates where OP has adopted a notmycat: This sub is called NOTyourcat for a reason. Strays, alley cats, other people's cats etc. are fine, but if the cat belongs to you they belong in r/nowmycat, not here. X-posting someone else's post about their cat(s) isn't allowed. Posting about looking after someone else's cat (family, friend, neighbour etc) is not allowed.
  4. Exceptions: updates where OP has previously posted the cat as a notmycat, and now they are nowmycat.
  5. Did you interact with the cat(s)?: Less of a rule and more of a guideline. You must have interacted with a cat somehow (explanation in comments is ok too if it's not obvious from, or not featured in the post itself), we're not r/catspotting.
  6. No insulting, no threatening harm, no inciting harm on any kitty: This is a place for celebrating other people's cats when they come into your life, however brief the encounter. This is not the place for insulting anyone's kitty. And it's certainly not the place for threatening harm on a cat, or inciting someone else to harm a cat.
  7. No posts or comments about adopting a kitty that clearly has an owner: If notmycat looks healthy and well fed don't just assume it's a stray and lock it up, take ownership or take it to a shelter. The cat will most likely go home to see its loving family on its own. You don't need to "save it"
  8. Don't ask for money
  9. posts asking for money, or links to gofundme or other site to get money
