  1. Game promotion must include an image/gif/video showing game footage: Game promotion posts MUST contain either a direct link to an image, image gallery that loads inline on reddit, a gif, a gifv/gfycat, webm, youtube, or other gameplay content.
  2. Evading automod: Automoderator is setup to require users post screenshots/gifs of games so that we can see what gameplay looks like before clicking on a site outside of reddit.
  3. Don't be posting offers for services: Advertising services like music production, artwork etc goes in /r/INAT, per the sidebar note.
  4. Don't overpost. Post 2 times per week: Don't overpost your content. Choose your best work and share 2 times per week to give people a chance to digest what you're sharing. This also allows others to shine through.
  5. No adult content: While NSFW content - blood, etc, is allowed, adult content is not.
  6. No crossposting: Be creative and make an appealing post, not crosspost something from a different Subreddit.
  7. Be civil and respectful: Treat the others like you would treat yourself.
  8. Don't put your age in post title: It is not appropriate. Just post about your game.
  9. No promotions of YouTube or Twitch channels, Podcasts or other socials: This subreddit is to help discover indie games and connect indie developers with audiences by giving them a channel to showcase their game. Please don't use it to promote your YouTube channels, Twitch streams or similar opportunities.
  10. No promotion posts under guise of feedback.

  13. Posting any links to store pages, social media, websites, or asking for feedback on any promotion material such as Steam Capsule images, store pages, trailers, or website is NOT ALLOWED.
  14. r/indiegames is not a game developer subreddit. Do not post game dev related posts.
  15. No A/B capsule art testing or promotion of unfinished art assets: r/indiegames is NOT a game development subreddit. We aren’t here to help you make your game or give you feedback on unfinished aspects of your game that you, as the developer, should be able to figure out.show off finished artwork only and do not post capsule images or models/art/posts from inside of editor tools.
