Subreddit Rules
- No bullying: Bullying includes: calling people names, attacking the person instead of arguing a point, insulting a group of people, or just being mean.
- If you start a fight we may remove the entire thread.
- Unless someone is specifically looking for advice or criticism, the common adiom applies: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything”
- Use the trigger warning flair: If you are posting about topics that could “trigger” other members of the community, like depression, abuse, suicide, etc, please use the red Trigger Warning flair (at the bottom of the flair list)
- No HSP-denial: The folks who subscribe to this sub already identify as HSP and embrace Dr. Aron's theories and findings.
- You'd just be preaching against the choir... and it just causes a big kerfuffle with no useful outcome.
- If you think HSP is not a thing, then don't spend time in this sub.
- No pathologizing or diagnosing others: High Sensitivity is not something to be 'cured'.
- Please do not “gate-keep” HSP or try to claim someone is not an HSP.
- Posts about coping mechanisms and self-care are fine.
- No HSP-autism conflation: High Sensitivity is not autism. The one area where they might overlap is physical sensitivity.
- The majority of HSP/Autism posts have been HSP-denial posts unfortunately.
- Posts or comments claiming that high sensitivity is just misdiagnosed autism, etc. will be removed.
- Obviously you can be both an HSP and have autism, just the same as you can be an HSP and have red hair.
- If you want to discuss your experience as someone with both traits, feel free. But please don't conflate HSP as autism.
- HSP-related clinical studies and commercial services for HSPs: We allow these but they are subject to moderator discretion.
- It is preferred to use mod mail to notify the moderators before posting with information about your service or research.
- If you do post: you must use a “services/consulting for HSPs” flair or “research study” flair.
- If you do not use this flair AND/OR you don’t notify the mods, your post may be subject to removal.
