Subreddit Rules
  1. Posts must be shitpost-esque & follow format rules! This is not r/motivation!: r/hopeposting isn’t just r/wholesomememes or r/motivation. The proper format for all hopeposts is shitpost-esque images/gifs/videos (kind of like r/whenthe) with inspiring or uplifting captions. Tweets, Tumblr posts, Spotify playlists, and the like are not allowed; neither are generic motivational quotes/videos.
  2. If a post does not fit this style, it must be posted on a Friday (using Freepost Friday flair). If you want to make a text post, see our spin off subreddit r/givemehope.
  3. Posts must inspire hope: Posts must inspire hope or highlight the beauty of existence. This is **hope**posting, after all!
  4. No hope requests - we have r/givemehope for those: Need hope? Check out our spin off subreddit r/givemehope designed exactly for hope requests.
  5. Posts should be properly captioned: Context and captions should be included in the post itself, not in the title or comments. This does not include text posts.
  6. No “schizoposting” or distressing content: The posted image, gif, or video should not be blatantly distressing when removed from context or its caption. If a post fits on r/distressingmemes or r/schizoposting, it doesn’t belong on r/hopeposting.
  7. No harassment or toxicity: Posts and comments harassing or antagonizing a real person will be removed. Please treat your fellow hopeposters with respect!
  8. No Reposts!: Reposts of any kind will be automatically removed by u/MAGIC_EYE_BOT. Attempting to circumvent detection will result in a ban.
  9. No toxic positivity: Posts and comments should not be overly positive in such a way that they invalidate other schools of thought or downplay/deny the negative aspects of life.
  10. Posts should not be solely about religion: Posts mentioning religious topics are allowed but religion should not be the main point of the post. E.g. "God's beautiful world" is fine because of the "beautiful world" part, but "God loves you" isn't because religion is the focal point
