- Post Details.: We love detailed homelab builds, please put as much detail about your lab as possible and what you are using it for. Posts with just a few pictures and no context behind them will be removed. Detail can be posted as a reply to your own post.
- Not Homelab Related: Discussion about your homelab, homelabing, questions you may have, discussion about applying your skill from the homelab to the workplace are all acceptable reasons to post. Unrelated posts will be removed.
- Shitpost/Low Effort: Please no shitposting or low effort posts. This includes a picture of some hardware you just bought, speed test screenshots, lab porn which is just a home network, "what should I do with it" posts, "here's what I want to run which hardware" or help posts where you have not posted details of the research you have done up until this point (This reddit isn't your personal Google).
- No piracy: Keep piracy discussion off of this subreddit, everything here should be done legally and through the right means. Mentions of and recommendations of piracy to other users will be removed and you will be banned if trying to endorse/sell keys, this includes 'key swaps' and giveaways of keys.
- No Commercial Advertising or Monetized Referral Links: Monetized referral links, affiliate links, product advertising, and company advertising are not allowed. Contact the moderators via Mod Mail before posting if you believe an exception applies. Non-commercial personal projects are permitted, but must follow all other sub rules.
- Software Project Posting Requirements: All software projects must be relevant to r/homelab, use a "Project: Software" flair, disclose AI usage with post flair and in the text of the post, include responses to the prompt displayed when posting with one of the software project flairs, and the user must meet the minimum subreddit karma requirement. Posts that do not meet these requirements, try to bypass the "Project: Software" flairs, provide incomplete or misleading disclosures, or otherwise violate community standards may be removed.
