Subreddit Rules
- Posts must be freediving-related: Posts on this sub must be freediving related; be it your latest diving adventure, training tips, discussions, gear updates, or asking questions.
- Go to a medical professional for your injuries or history of injury: We are a subreddit full of freedivers, not doctors. Any questions regarding injuries or recovering from an injury will be removed.
- We are unable to provide medical advice and recommend you speak to a physician. When in doubt, seek immediate care from a local hospital's emergency department.
- We are unable to give recommendations on recoveries and unable to say whether freediving is safe for you. Always seek clearance from a medical professional to ensure you're fit to dive prior to diving.
- Do not recommend unsafe diving practices: This sub stands firm with the freediving community's stance on promoting safe diving practices. All content is expected to reflect those values.
- Do not downplay the risks of freediving, recommend diving alone, recommend unsafe diving locations, or provide advice on topics you do not have experience with.
- We recommend all individuals seek freediving courses with qualified and experienced instructors prior to freediving.
- Any content that breaks this rule will be removed.
- Respect marine life and their environment: We don't condone touching or disturbing marine life or influence their habitat negatively. This includes touching, feeding, moving, grabbing, or holding marine life and/or touching, moving, grabbing, or standing on reefs or wrecks.
- Advertising for Freediving Professionals: Instructors / Diveshops / Divetrip-Organizers can create standalone posts with the postflair "Ad" to advertise courses, trainings or trips, events and must include: dates, location, schedule, pricing, business-link/socials
- Product can be advertised as standalone post the postflair "Ad" and must include: description, pricing, product-link
- You are encouraged to use pictures for your ads
- Ads will be removed at discretion of being found spammy, info missing or if the ad is freediving-unrelated.
- App advertising goes in the Megathread: If you'd like to advertise your application, you can post them into the Megathread "App Advertising and Research Requests" Because of a strong influx of app development we do not allow single-post app ads currently. The Megathread description shows the required info that your post must include, failure to include the necessary info will result in removal from the Megathread.
- When in doubt, message the mods.
- Research requests need mod approval : If you're looking for research participants, you need to get permission from the mods prior to posting.
- Approved research requests go into the Megathread "App Advertising and Research Requests"
- All requests can be forwarded to the mods using modmail.
- Be civil: It is expected that you will remain civil while engaging with other users on our sub.
- Any comments that contain rude behavior, judgement, or name calling will be removed and the user will be issued a ban at the moderator's discretion.
- Any comments containing sexiest, racist, homophobic, or any form of discrimination will result in an immediate ban. This sub is an inclusive space.
- Don't feed the trolls and don't perpetuate drama.
- Use post flairs: All posts require a post flair prior to being published.
- This ensures users can search for specific content or remove content they do not wish to view.
- Please notes: the Highlight flair requires you to use the name of the location in the title and optional info about dive in your comments.
- AI generated images/posts or responses. This includes using OpenAI, ChatGPT, and other generative text apps used to create or edit content. These apps are known to produce misinformation/hallucinations and are not considered accurate sources of information and freediving content requires a large degree of accuracy for safety. If there's concerns of a language barrier, please use translation-only services (e.g. DeepL, Google translate, etc.).
- When in doubt, message the mods
- Other Considerations: Posts and comments may be removed at Moderator's Discretion to ensure the safety of the sub.
- Moderators may provide temp or perm bans at their discretion for rule breaking behavior.

- Designated Posting Day: Fun Dive Fridays Fun Dive posts are only permitted on the designated day: Fun Dive Fridays. Posts made outside of this day will be removed. Please check the rules regularly to stay up-to-date on any changes to posting schedules.
