Subreddit Rules
- Post Quality: Posts must be directly related to foraging, have substance, and be for the purpose of seeking information or generating a discussion.
- No Trolls. Be civil: DO NOT RESPOND TO TROLLS OR FLAME BAIT!
- Name calling and inflammatory posts or comments with the intent of provoking users into fights will not be tolerated. As r/foraging is for a wide audience, posts/comments that are inflammatory, gatekeeping, or unpleasant will be removed and may incur a ban.
- If the mod team feels that you are generally unhelpful and causing unnecessary confrontation, you will be banned. If you feel you are being trolled, report the comment and do not respond.
- Racism/Bigotry/Hate/Violence: Any post or comment that promotes Racism, Bigotry, Hate, or Violence against an individual or a group will be removed by the moderators. Mods also reserve the option of banning users who they feel flagrantly violate this rule.
- Excessive self-promotion: If you participate on r/foraging regularly and occasionally submit links to your own content you can ignore this rule so long as you are following proper [reddiquette](http://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette).
- Otherwise if you are promoting your own content on r/foraging, you may only submit a link every other week. Posts must be substantive, not simply a title and 'check out XYZ'.
- It is never acceptable to make a post whose only purpose is to advertise items for sale.
- Misinformation or jokes that could lead to harm: Please do not spread misinformation that could potentially lead to other users harming themselves due to misunderstandings of toxicity. Please do not joke or make light of toxicity or potential toxicity.
- Bad overused jokes: Do not use bad overused jokes such as “Yes that is a mushroom”, “Anything is edible once”, "Forbidden [X]", comparing things to human body parts, etc.
- Mushrooms - Do not pick shame: Do not pick-shame people for picking a certain number of mushrooms. Picking mushrooms does no harm to the mycelium and is often necessary for proper identification.
