- Simply dropping a video/article link (or any other content) without context *explicitly* connecting it to mormon faith deconstruction? Nope, not going to fly. Make an effort.
- Current events, science, and memes are allowed if related to Mormonism. Posts invoking modern politics must be related to actions by the modern church. We reserve the right to remove any politically oriented post that poses a potential risk to civility.
- Be kind: Do not engage in personal attacks or trolling. Disagreement is fine, but stay civil. Do not intentionally try to provoke a negative reaction out of someone. Hate speech and all forms of harassment are not tolerated, including misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and victim-shaming. Generally speaking, just be a good human.
- No doxxing / revealing personal information: Please do not post names, phone numbers, addresses, or personally identifying information. Do not link to social media accounts. Linking to professionally published news articles is not doxxing.

We will remove any posts or comments that are clearly intended to rescue us lost sheep and get us back to church, LDS or not.
- We don't condone r/exmormon members going into the faithful subs to try and lure people away, and we ask the same courtesy in return.
- No Low-Effort Posts: Low-effort posts include (but are not limited to):
- • Posting (or cross-posting content from another subreddit) without adding your own context to explain why it's relevant to mormon faith deconstruction • Mocking the physical appearance or condition of others, including active mormons
- First and foremost, this subreddit has always been about real conversations and connections between people disaffiliating from mormonism.
- No fundraising or advertising: Please do not advertise fundraisers, products, goods, or services that are not 100% free. This includes asking for or offering money for any reason and posts regarding housing, jobs, etc. If money will be involved, this is not the place.
- Content Promotion: Any content shared in r/exmormon without conversation or context will likely be removed if OP's post history in the sub indicates no other type of engagement with the community. In other words, we'll know if you're just here to get clicks.
- This includes YouTube videos, AI-generated content, memes, and any other content that steers users away from Reddit.
- r/ExNetwork has been created exclusively for content creators.
- Also, once an item of content has been posted, reposts will be removed.
- NSFW images, links, and explicit content: Do not post NSFW images or links to NSFW sites. This helps us keep a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
- When discussing sex, or Mormon church rules about sex, avoid overly explicit details unless relevant. You can write about sex, but detailed stories about explicit sexual content are not appropriate for this subreddit. We suggest r/LDSNSFW_Stories if you want a place to write those types of stories.
- Most political posts/comments are not allowed: Posts dealing with politics are allowed if the subject is political actions taken by the modern mormon church. That's all. Here's what will be removed:
- 1. Posts concerning US presidential politics, or any other nation's politics 2. Comments that take a non-political post and make it political
- Other subs have been set up for exmo politics, where you are welcome to be as political as you want.
- Moderator Discretion: If we run across a post or comment that doesn't necessarily violate one of our rules, but just isn't appropriate for our community, we reserve the right to remove it. We'll explain the reasoning in a message to whomever posted it.
