Subreddit Rules
  1. No misinformation on code or misleading safety advice: Advice about code and about safety must be accurate. Occasional mistakes are OK, but doubling down on incorrect code or safety advice is not. If disputes arise, actual code language will be used to decide who is right.
  2. AI interpretations of code or safety advice are not allowed.
  3. This sub advises following electric code for your jurisdiction. In some cases, there are reasons why people stray outside those rules. Discussion of doing so must recognize the legal and safety risks involved.
  4. Discrimination / Hate: Posts and comments, whether in jest or with malice, that consist of racist, sexist, homophobic or general abuse, will be removed, regardless of popularity or relevance.
  5. Civility: Comments must be civil and constructive. The following are examples, but not a comprehensive list, of ways to violate this rule.
  6. If you disagree with someone, that's OK, but don't descend into insulting them--keep the focus on the content of the discussion.
  7. Trolling and trying to bait others into uncivil behavior are other examples of types of comments that violate this rule.
  8. Do not reveal personal information:
  9. Self-promotion is not allowed: Reddit's guidelines for Self-promotion https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion. Self-promotion includes but not limited to:
  10. Links to your own content (whether or not you make money from it.)
  11. Links to your social media page(s), including YouTube.
  12. Asking for upvotes, etc.
  13. Self-promotional content will be considered as spam and treated as such. Excessive violations may result in a temporary/permanent ban.
  14. See also the "appropriate company participation" rule and the "surveys" rule.
  15. No charger drama: We do not accept posts that are simply complaints about chargers being "ICEd" (blocked by gas cars) or venting about other problems unless there is a clear emphasis on a productive discussion. Post at r/ChargerDrama instead.
  16. Appropriate company participation: Companies are welcome to participate in the sub under a company username or an individual username, with disclosure of the affiliation. Comments should be for clarifying capabilities of their products, etc., not promoting them. Posts from such accounts are only allowed in special cases with moderator permission.
  17. Users affiliated with charging companies may participate without disclosing that affiliation if (and only if) they refrain from promoting the company's products.
  18. Surveys: * Surveys are only allowed after approval.
  19. To be considered for approval, post a full draft of the questions for discussion and engage in the discussion.
  20. Surveys must include the identity of the entity conducting the survey, the client, and the purpose of the survey.
  21. It must be clear who the survey is intended for: EV drivers, all drivers, charging experts, etc., and in what geographical area.
  22. Anyone conducting a survey must post a follow-up with results within 2 weeks.
  23. No memes in comments: Images in comments are for communicating details of your technical advice or OP's situation. Memes, such as reaction memes, are not allowed.
  24. No AI-generated content : AI cannot reliably provide advice on electrical safety or electrical code. There are enough competent people here that there's no need to use it. Comments or posts with AI generated text are not allowed.
