Subreddit Rules
  1. Don't be a dick: Really, this should need no explanation - it's nicer for everyone but trolls if we can be friendly and helpful.
  2. Note: preferred ways to deal with trolls in Dwarf Fortress include painting the floor cyan with their blood or elaborate magma traps, but on /r/dwarffortress we're limited to the sadly metaphorical banhammer. Don't make us use it!
  3. Stay on-topic: This subreddit is about Dwarf Fortress, not just things that remind you of Dwarf Fortress. News, ideas, discussion, streams, screenshots (cropped), etc are all welcome.
  4. However, links to eg. someone's underground house or an old mine are not.
  5. No memes, image macros, or AI-Art: At all, in posts or in comments - we want a higher standard of discussion than that.
  6. Purely puerile posts, i.e. "Elf wereass" screenshot, are also unwelcome.
  7. Feel free to post them in subs made for it such as /r/dwarffortressmemes , though.
  8. AI art also tends to be both low effort and to provoke off-topic discussion.
  9. Crop irrelevant parts from screenshots: This makes things a lot better for users on mobile devices or low-resolution screens - and there are many!
  10. We also encourage you to think about what's in the screenshot, and maybe post fewer of higher quality.
  11. Indicate if you're using a mod: Posting screenshots of your adventure as a Grand Fire Mage might be awesome, but someone's going to be disappointed or confused if you don't make it clear it's modded.
  12. Noting which in the title allows others to share the !!Fun!!; for more complex situations (eg bespoke changes) an explanatory comment would be appreciated.
  13. Use the Questions Thread!: Questions/requests for help should go in [our latest regular "Questions Thread."](https://www.reddit.com/r/DwarfFortress/about/sticky)
  14. - New players can still get help. The thread is always active & watched by several veterans. - Posts asking for help undesireably drown out other content. - Subjective topics & posts intended to start a discussion are welcome.
  15. Message the mods if you need an exemption from the automatic filter.
