- No "decade kid" debates: Decade kid discussions are an extension of generationology, which is against our rules. We do not care what birth years you consider a 90's kid, or 2000's kid, or whatever. These topics belong to r/generationology. We are here to discuss pop cultural eras.
- Try to be respectful of others opinions: You may not agree with another user, but try to keep it civil. You will not always agree with someone and that's ok.
- No low-effort content: All content must demonstrate a reasonable effort to contribute to the community.
- Don't post your flame war drama on here.: At r/decadeology, we genuinely do not care to see screenshots or rants of your Internet flame war drama. Either report it to the mods, or ignore it and stop feeding the trolls.
- No discrimination: Don't judge anyone based off of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
- Please stay on topic: All threads should relate to decade-specific trends. r/decadeology is not a general-purpose nostalgia or pop culture subreddit.
- No numerologist interlopers: You cannot use "X year is the numerical shift year between Y era and Z era" as an argument. Inversely, you cannot say "B year is NOT the shift year because it isn't numerically split between "A" era and "C" era.
- For example
- "ERMAHGERD 2022 cannot be the shift to the mid 20s, it literally began in 2023!!!!111"
- You CAN say the numerically split year is a shift year. But NOT because of the numerical split fallacy argument. You have to explain why it is or isn't a shift year CULTURALLY.
