Subreddit Rules
- Everything has to be related to the history of comic strips.: For the most part, this means comics under discussion should be from 10 or more years ago. More recent comics are allowed if they're notable for some reason, to the point where they could constitute some major event or historical change on the comics page.
- This sub is about newspaper comics.: This sub is about the history of newspaper comic strips, not webcomics or comic books. Posts about topics other than newspaper comics will be removed.
- Be nice.: Pretty self-explanatory.
- If the comic needs context, provide it.: If the joke relies on some piece of context that the average person wouldn't know, provide that context in the comments. For example, if a comic from the 1920's relies on understanding slang from that era, explain what it means. That doesn't mean you have to explain the joke--just give enough info for the average person to figure it out.
- Don't Spam/Other: Don't Spam. Don't use this sub as a place to vent your personal issues with reality.
