Subreddit Rules
- Keep It Celtics: This is a subreddit dedicated to the Boston Celtics. Please keep posts related to the team.
- We understand that moves and actions other teams make can directly impact our team, but this is a subreddit for the Boston Celtics. Any posts about a non-Celtics player or non-Celtics organization may be removed.
- Trolling: Sports subreddits are particularly prone to trolling, especially during the Playoffs or during intense games. Please - don't encourage them! Report any trolling to the mods and the users will be dealt with. Also, trolling other subs is not tolerated and will result in a ban.
- Keep It Civil: This sub thrives on the passion of Celtics fans and we encourage spirited debate about the team's gameplay, trades, and everything in between. We want this to be a safe place for fans to discuss all things Celtics.
- That said, arguments that devolve into harassment from either party involved or any other form of harassment of other people in this sub may result in temporary or full bans, depending on the severity.
- Low Effort/Mindless Self Posts: We love thoughtful self posts. They are the lifeblood of the community and are often our best content. However, self posts that are just a question or simple comment are better off in the Official Post Game, Daily Discussion, or Next Day Threads. A post should encourage discussion. “Does anyone think we can beat the Bucks in 5? Let’s Go Celtics!!” Is not a quality post and will be removed.
- Duplicate Post: Before posting you should at least check through the front page to make sure there isn’t already an active conversation on the topic. Same applies to breaking news - check 'New' first before posting. If you have a specific question you should search to see if it’s been asked before. If you are reporting a post as a duplicate, please comment on the post or include a link to the original post! Duplicate reports will be ignored if an original can not be found.
- Wishing / Encouraging Injury to a Player: We have no problem with people hating on Celtics villains old and new, but we won't allow that vitriol to turn into wishing a player physical harm. We love the passion behind that ill will, but as a fanbase we can and should be better than that.
- Topic Should Be Discussed in Designated Megathread: The mods have created a megathread to collect and focus all discussion on this topic in one area of the sub. We encourage you to repost this content there.
- No Self Promotion: We understand that you (or your friend, cousin, uncle, etc.) probably put in a lot of effort to create this video, podcast, or YouTube channel. Your passion as a Celtics fan is commendable and we encourage you to link to your work in the daily thread!
- Incomplete/Misleading Title: If your post has a title that gives no information about the topic we will likely remove it. When posting an article or column you should use the original title when possible. If we believe the content of the post was worthwhile we will contact you with information on why the post was removed and what you should do if you wish to post it again.
- Source Your Content: If you are posting a photo or link to a tweet then keep it to credible sources (i.e. NBA, current player, ESPN, Himmelsbach). Tweets provided from a non-credible source run the risk of being removed. Additionally, users who copy content written by someone else must credit the original writer. Posts taken from another site or user without proper sourcing will be removed.
- No Politics: This sub is not the place to talk about politics.
- No Fantasy/Gambling/Betting: This sub is not the place to talk about fantasy basketball or discuss gambling/betting on NBA or Celtics games.
- Preserving Player's Family Integrity: Posts with family members, specially kids, might be removed if the mod team feels it exposes to much the family of said player. Lt's keep the focus on the players and team.
- No Ticket Sales: Posts trying to sell or requesting to buy tickets are not allowed. We cannot verify the legitimacy of tickets or offers. Ticket selling posts regularly cause problems in team subs.
- COVID-19/Vaccines: Unless directly related to a statement by the Celtics organization, coaching staff, or player there is no reason to discuss COVID-19 or opinions on vaccines or the vaccination status of others. These discussions usually lead to political talk or other non-Celtics related opinions.
