Subreddit Rules
  1. Nothing here constitutes actual medical advice: Our members offer feedback only. Please remember that no one here is qualified to diagnose, or tell you to deviate from guidance from your physician, regardless of their credentials in real life.
  2. Any advice is an internet stranger's opinion and nothing more. Also be kind to the health professionals on here, they don’t have to be volunteering their time here.
  3. If you need professional medical care, we strongly encourage you to pursue that.
  4. Fear Mongering: Posting comments about your own “horrific personal experience and how it might be what the OP is having too” is Fear Mongering. This is not tolerated in this group. This also means interpreting all results as the “worst case scenario” when there are more realistic reasons for the same symptoms is NOT ALLOWED. Health anxiety is real, do not create this in others seeking help.
  5. Health Anxiety/ Mental Health: This forum is designed for Cardiology questions. We are trained health professionals with Cardiology training only. We are not equipped and do not have the training to handle mental health or health anxiety questions. Please seek professional help or other forums for this inquiry.
  6. No False Information or Expertise: Members who make false medical statements based on their “professional training” will be warned and you may be asked to submit verification of training. If you’re caught lying, you will be permanently banned from the group.
  7. If you are advising and you have no medical training, this can be considered false information which can result in your post being deleted and a ban.
  8. Humility Required: Arguing with someone who is more qualified is not allowed (ie, Paramedic arguing with a Cardiologist, or Radiologist arguing with a Electrophysiologist). Respect is not an option when participating in this group. If you suspect the person is falsifying their status, report to the moderator for review as this violates group rules.
  9. Don't ask for a diagnosis: We are all strangers on the internet and accordingly, no one here is has all the information to give you a complete diagnosis. We can help point you in a direction, nothing more.
  10. If you ask for a diagnosis you will be warned. Repeated violations will result in a ban.
  11. User flair is encouraged: Please let us know who you are. If you are answering questions, it is helpful if the community can tell if you're a physician or just a lay-person who is interested in cardiology.
  12. No rudensss or bullying behavior: Please respect each other and treat the other subreddit members kindly. Also realize that some people may be posting here because they can't afford real medical care. Act accordingly.
  13. Also be kind to the health professionals on here, they don’t have to volunteer their time here. That being said, they’re held to the same standards and rudeness and bullying will also not be tolerated by them as well.
  14. Relevant questions only: Please ensure questions are directly related to cardiology or related medical specialties.
  15. No Names on Reports: This is Reddit rule, not just a subreddit rule. So please don’t do it. Thanks.
  16. Diagnosing or Suggesting a Diagnosis: This includes projecting your diagnosis on others.
  17. Medical professionals need many tests to understand complex cardiac diseases, we cannot even as medical professionals diagnose someone over the internet. Other patients suggesting diagnosis’ to other patients is only going to drive fear, harm and increased unnecessary health care utilization.
