Subreddit Rules
- Posts must be related to Arctic Monkeys and associated acts: Any news for Arctic Monkeys or any acts associated (The Last Shadow Puppets, Side Projects, etc.) is encouraged. However posts relating to artists with no association to the band or its members are not relevant to this subreddit.
- No Redundant Posts: What constitutes as redundant is up for our discretion, however here are some examples of what this may look like:
- - Recently posted previously. If you are posting the bands latest tweet, check you're first.
- - Widely covered topics. Including but not limited to tier-lists, "X is underrated / Why do people sleep on X", playlists, and posts of that ilk.
- - Your damn spotify wrapped. There'll be a thread.
- And many more examples that cannot be detailed due to character limits in the rules.
- No discussion about band members' personal relationships: This community is built for discussion regarding the professional endeavors of Arctic Monkeys and their associated acts, not their personal relationships. Conversation surrounding the details of these relationships is prohibited.
- No Politics: Our boys aren't politicians, and politics is divisive. Pretty simple.
- No Shit Posts: The following examples are NOT substantial post content:
- - 505 is a three digit number and the title of an Arctic Monkeys song. Nothing more.
- - 4/5 ratings/occurrences are not uncommon.
- - RIP Brick by Brick spam 2011-2017
- - That tan room and ugly carpet doesn't have TBHC vibes.
- - Your car is not the car on the album cover of the car.
- - Seeing an AM frequency wave and it resembling the cover of AM is not a coincidence.
- Shitposts in general are limited to r/amcirclejerk.
- Unofficial leaks of material are strictly prohibited: Unofficial leaks to any material not sourced via an official provider (Domino Records, Arctic Monkeys website or socials, etc.), will be removed. This is in order to ensure that the subreddit is not subject to any piracy issues, and that the timeline the band intended is respected. This is a strict policy and is bannable on first offence.
- Buying / Selling tickets is prohibited.: In order to avoid liability, we have zero tolerance when it comes to the distribution of tickets via this subreddit, as it is susceptible to scams. Although I'm sure many who attempt to sell tickets will be genuine users, it is still prohibited for the protection of the users of this subreddit. Please kindly use official ticket re-sale outlets instead.
- Distribution of unverified/unofficial merch is prohibited: We receive many posts from scam bots attempting to sell fake t-shirts using photos that are taken from the subreddit (they literally used my t-shirt once). In order to ensure users of this subreddit are receiving from a legitimate vendor, verification must occur. Attempting to distribute content without verification is prohibited. If you believe you have been scammed by a verified vendor, please contact us.
- No Self Promotion: We are all for discovering new music and sharing it throughout the community. However, we won't allow users to promote their own material via this subreddit, unless it explicitly relates to the band (e.g. a cover or performance). Please kindly post songs inspired by the band to subreddits where self-promotion is allowed.
- No Trolling/Hate Speech: Trolling/Hate speech includes but is not limited to: Insulting someone based on their race, sexuality, gender. Inflammatory comments unnecessarily and aggressively attacking someone, and obviously intentional pestering/bullying also fall under this bracket.
- No Stealing an Artist's Work for Profit: This is a bannable offense and is taken seriously by the moderation team. All incidents will be reviewed and managed promptly. If you believe someone has stolen your own artwork, contact us immediately.
- No pictures of random people without their consent: Please respect the privacy of people minding their own business, no matter if what they are doing is related to the band or not.
- No e-Begging: Do not post/comment asking for free things from other users in the subreddit.
- No AI: Any AI slop / AI generated content of any kind will be removed and result in a permanent band. Musicians are creatives - AI is by definition generative and can never be creative in that same way - it is the antithesis of what music, and this band, stand for.
