Subreddit Rules
- Personal information is not to be shared.: Any and all personally identifying information is to be hidden by all posters and commenters. This includes names, phone numbers, addresses, or any information that could lead to finding someone IRL. Any posts/comments with this information will be removed in the interest of safety. Violators will be banned on sight. This refers to your case labels, barcodes, outgoing trays, trays of mail, or any other information. Zero tolerance.
- No posts related to customer service issues or packages.: /r/USPS is not an extension of official USPS customer service. Therefore, posts related to your package whereabouts, inquiries regarding delays and questions about the status of USPS distribution centers are no longer allowed. If you make a post about a package or tracking, your account will be permanently banned from this forum.
- Do not be rude to other posters. This includes hate speech.: Do not be rude to, harass, abuse, profile-stalk, or doxx any user on this sub for any reason, regardless of craft, job, age, gender, sex, orientation, race. Even if the post in question seems stupid, don't go out of your way to say so. Just scroll and move on. If you wouldn't want it said about you, don't say it about them.
- No organizing or soliciting for unlawful job actions: Because of the visibility of this sub and how important it is for a constant assistance to fellow craft employees in all aspects from hiring to advancing their career, this sub will not permit the posting nor soliciting of unsanctioned job actions by USPS employees. We entirely understand the reasons behind these desires, but losing a resource for all can't be risked.
- Use the search function first: This sub has been active for many years, chances are some questions have already been answered before. Please make use of the search function, failure to do so will result in your post being removed.
- No Interview or Reporter requests.: USPS employees are NOT ALLOWED to answer any questions asked by the media or news sites. Any reporters who post with requests for interviews or confidential will be muted, as will any employees who respond to these posts.
- Do not DM the mods, use modmail instead.: Please do not message the mods regarding subreddit activity or access to the Discord. Doing so will be ignored without response. Use modmail if you feel like something needs quick action.
- No politically charged posts: Any posts or comments that are politically charged/motivated, may be removed/locked at the discretion of the mods, due to the constant arguments and incivility that it causes. LGBT topics and race-relations topics not political in nature, but will be monitored and might get locked if comments get too hostile.
- No posts showing faulty equipment.: Our equipment sucks, everyone knows that, let's not endanger you or anyone else by making that common knowledge to those who'd break a window to steal a tray of Spectrum ads. Failure to follow this rule will result in a permanent ban.
- No ban evasion: This is obvious, but this rule is a placeholder for backend use.
- No AI comments, posts, or art generation: If your post, comment, or “art” was made by a robot, leave it in the recycling bin. The formatting is annoying, the ethics are murky, and letting a server farm do your thinking isn’t the flex you think it is. Do your own research. Use your own words.
