- Don't be a jerk: This is a community space for people with tics and allies. We're counting on you to keep this space friendly and welcoming. Be kind, use polite language, and assume that others are posting with good intentions until proven otherwise.
- If you see someone else breaking this rule, don't engage - you can use the "report" button to flag it for mod attention.
- No making fun of people with Tourette Syndrome: This applies to any other disorders as well. This is not a satire subreddit. You will be banned!
- Don’t accuse anyone of faking, and don’t ask if someone is faking.: Accusations of faking are incredibly harmful and have no place on this subreddit. This rule also applies to asking whether someone might be faking or accusing some members of a group of faking.
- If you break this rule you will be banned.

- Don't ask us if you have Tourette's: Nothing on this subreddit is professional medical advice. We're happy to give advice about the diagnosis process, but we can't tell you whether you have Tourettes. Please don't ask, and please don’t try to offer.
- Posts that include phrases like “is this a tic” and “does this sound like tourette’s” generally fall under this rule. Adding “not asking for a diagnosis” won’t change anything, and your post will still be removed.
- Do not prescribe or recommend alternative medicine or dietary supplements.: Discussions about experiences with commonly used supplements and treatments as they relate to your symptom management are allowed and encouraged (e.g. magnesium), but posts encouraging the use of other treatments that aren't widely accepted in the community will be removed (e.g. acupuncture, chiropractic). Marijuana and THC/CBD products fall under this rule as well.
- You are welcome to post about your own personal experiences.
- No Medical Misinformation: Mods reserve the right to remove posts and comments that perpetuate incorrect or easily disprovable claims
- No videos of minors or non-consenting persons.: Videos of minors are not allowed. There is no reason to take a video of your child having tics and post it online. We cannot provide a diagnosis. Please be considerate of your child's privacy; a child cannot consent to having their tics or other medical issues filmed and shared online where it will forever be public.
- Similarly, do not post videos of non-consenting adults having tics. If the person in the video is not you, they must clearly state they consent/agree to be filmed and shared.
- Message the mods before promoting research studies or external projects.: Examples of projects/services include storefronts, websites, and businesses, or any links that might direct a user outside of the sub. This does not include questionnaires and polls that take place within threads in the sub.
- We will approve these on a case by case basis, provided the promotion relates to and/or benefits the TS community.
- Fundraisers and donation requests will almost always be removed, and may result in a ban.

If your post contains a question that's been covered there, it may be removed under this rule. We're always open to adding more info to the page, so please message us if you think something is missing!
