Subreddit Rules
- How to properly post a restock, sale, or preorder: All Steelbook listings MUST be linked directly to the retailer where the item can be bought either in the post itself or in the comments (if available). Any posts linking to a social media sites, forums, or posts with external affiliated links will be removed promptly without notice. The post must also have a proper title mentioning what the item is and whether it's a restock, preorder, or sale. If it is an artwork reveal, we encourage users to make an image post.
- No Buying, Selling, or Trading: The place to buy/sell/trade with other collectors is r/SteelBookSwap. Any posts attempting to sell or purchase via third party will be removed promptly. For "value" or "where can I find x steelbook" questions please use r/SteelbookSwap and the eBay sold listings filter to find these answers.
- Be Excellent to Each Other: This Subreddit is about SteelBooks and the hobby of collecting them. There are thousands and thousands of SteelBooks. As such, not everyone will like the same releases. What someone is excited about getting may be something you would never add to your collection. What a movie means to someone could place it as a Personal Grail even if it's not monetarily valuable. **Be civil and respectful of others and follow Reddiquette**
- No screenshots of orders: We're excited that you were able to secure the SteelBook(s) that you're looking for, but we don't need to see a screenshot of your order. Please come and show off your awesome new SteelBooks once you've gotten them in hand.
- No third party sales links or Screenshots (eBay, Mercari, etc): Unfortunately there is no way for us to verify who these belong to so they are not allowed. This is to prevent users trying to promote their items by spamming the main feed with links/screenshots that may even be posed as genuine questions.
- No "where can I find ____ steelbook?" or steelbook "value" related posts allowed: These can easily turn into selling posts so we encourage users to use these tools in order to answer their questions:
- For value related questions we recommend checking eBay's current & sold listings to get an idea of what your item(s) worth. For questions on where you can find certain steelbooks we recommend putting an ISO (in search of) post over on r/SteelbookSwap. You can also user our FAQ for a list of retailers to check availability there.
- Please check the FAQ first: Any post that already has an answer in our [**FAQ**](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteelBooks/wiki/faq/) will be removed to avoid cluttering the feed.
- Use Original Content: When posting about recent pickups, please submit original content only! Do not use a saved photo from a third party website. Any posts containing third party pictures may be removed and a new post may be made. Do not repost someone else's post.
- Do not ask for Digital Codes: If you feel like giving away your digital codes, that's fine. Posts will be deleted once codes have been claimed. Any comments by users on any posts ask for digital codes from OP will be removed and user possibly banned.
- Asking people on their pickup posts or PMing them asking for their digital code may result in you being banned without warning.
- [Meta] Posts: Posts or submissions about the community itself are allowed as long as they follow the general rules of /r/Steelbooks.
- Moderator Discretion: At any time the moderators will use discretion on any given rule. If they feel it's significant or unique to be up despite the rules. On the other hand, they also reserve the right to remove any post they feel breaks the rules. All of this can of course be appealed by messaging us.
