Subreddit Rules
  1. Follow the Reddit Content Policy: All content that is prohibited under the Reddit Content Policy will be removed. This includes but is not limited to: illegal content, threatening/harassing/bullying, sharing personal information, spam, ban evasion, vote manipulation. See https://www.redditinc.com/policies/content-policy
  2. No Illegal Activity: Posts, comments, and discussions about piracy, basegame converted content, buying/selling or sharing of EA accounts, key sellers/resellers, grey markets, and/or legally dubious activities are not allowed. In-depth guides, encouraging users to pirate, asking how to pirate the game or using media in the comments, like emojis, to evade AutoMod is an automatic ban. The minimum consequence is a 3-day ban.
  3. Be Civil: Personal attacks against other users will not be tolerated and will be met with disciplinary action at moderator discretion. This includes name-calling, insulting other users' intelligence, bigotry, overt rudeness, and trolling. Posts containing controversial material may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  4. Post Relevancy: All posts must be related to The Sims 4 and **only** The Sims 4. Posts about the Sims franchise in general, other games, politics, the culture war, IRL memes, asking for pc or hardware recommendations, tech advice, the EA app, Steam, console platforms, EA play, third-party sites, mod sites, life outside the game, personal belongings, ‘I asked AI’, AI images or renders and all other irrelevant posts will be removed.
  5. No Begging and No Monetizable-Promotion
  6. begging for gifts, money, followers or subscribers. Posts promoting monetizable content (e.g. YouTube, Tik Tok, Patreon, Social Media, Blogs, etc.) will be removed. Non-monetizable promotion is allowed (simsfileshare, google drive, builds on the gallery) and mentions of monetizable content is allowed in the comments as long as the post itself contains enough content to engage the sub without having to click the link.
  7. No "Which Pack" Posts
  8. posts asking which pack to buy. This includes "is it worth it?", "have the bugs been fixed?", "when is the next sale?" etc. Use the search feature instead of requesting advice/guidance/opinions on which DLC to purchase, or when to buy. Do your own research via reviews, commentaries, etc. This community has decided it prefers not to answer these questions all the time. Every BB and CAS item for all packs is here.
  9. Mark your NSFW Posts
  10. NSFW media in the comments.: Mark your posts! No NSFW media in the comments on unmarked posts. Posts or comments pertaining to excessive violence will be removed. This includes, but is not limited to graphic depictions of mods, self-harm, gore, excessive blood, murder, domestic violence, rape, child abuse ect. If you come across a post or comment that contains NSFW content that is not labeled as such, please report it! We allow most NSFW content only if it is appropriately tagged. Explicit content may be removed.
  11. Limit Reposts: A post that has been repeated or is **exceedingly similar** to another post (including your own) within the last month will be removed. ‘Follow-ups’ are allowed but should be made no sooner than 24 hours after the initial post. Common questions such as "I'm bored, what should I do next?", "What should I name my sim?" and "Do I have same face syndrome?" will be removed. Additionally, content reposted without crediting the original user may also be removed. Original content is always prioritized.
  12. No low-effort posts: Image submissions should be clear and should not be crooked, blurry, poorly cropped, or show views of your home (including pets). If you're having issues taking screenshots, please use [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/1c1nifa/how_to_take_the_best_screenshots_of_your_game/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) post as a guide. Questions that can be easily googled may also be removed. This sub is not a search engine.
  13. No "Which Mod/CC" Posts Outside of Pinned Thread: Asking for mod recommendations **outside** the pinned thread is against the rules! This includes CC, save file, WCIF, and "is there a mod" posts. Posts asking how-to-use or how-to-fix specific mods/cc will also be removed. Please use the pinned thread for these discussions. It is also linked to the sidebar and quick links on PC and mobile.
  14. No Meta Posts: Posts decrying or espousing opinions expressed on the subreddit, such as "why don't I get any upvotes", "why are people commenting [this opinion] on posts?", “Why was my post removed?”, ‘I don’t get why people like/hate/post this” and "I hate the community response to this pack" always devolve into mudslinging. Posts should be about the game, not what people on the subreddit or on Twitter are saying.
  15. Troubleshooting Outside of Pinned Thread: All troubleshooting posts (i.e. bugs, glitches, problems with your App, tech help, complex technical questions etc.) must go in the pinned troubleshooting thread. We do accept unique, funny bug image submissions that don’t seek game help and follow the rest of the rules accordingly. Unsolicited messages, to moderators, seeking game support, may result in a subreddit ban.
