Subreddit Rules
  1. Be considerate of others: Personal attacks, racism, sexism, and bigotry are not tolerated here. While disagreements and debates are welcome, pointless and needless insults are not. We all want to make our community a better place.
  2. Do not post personal information: This includes names, personal phone numbers, personal emails, and any other personally identifiable information. This also applies to "missed connections" posts. Missing person posts are allowed only if a police report has been filed and proof has been sent to the mods. This is one of reddit's five rules.
  3. Related to SLC or Utah: Posts and comments must be directly related to Salt Lake City or Utah. Just because something is found in Salt Lake City doesn't necessarily make it on topic. The SLC Metropolitan Area is considered SLC for the purposes of this subreddit.
  4. No advertising or fundraising: Posts and comments advertising products, selling tickets, seeking funds for GoFundMe campaigns, and related topics will be removed. Answers to posts or comments seeking recommendations are allowed. Donations to charities are also allowed. This includes "WTB" ticket posts as these invite lots of scammers.
  5. Use search before posting: Reposts are frequent on this subreddit and they may be removed. Please check to see if your topic has already been posted within the last week or a megathread exists. Questions asked that show absolutely no research has been done may also be removed.
  6. No legal or medical advice: This is not a legal or medical subreddit. Any questions seeking any legal or medical advice will be removed.
  7. No posts with misleading titles or editorialized headlines: The title of link being shared must match word-for-word the title of the article. Share your opinion about an article in the comments, not in the title.
  8. No rants, negativity, brigading, or pitchforks : Needless rants, negativity, brigading, and pitchfork-type posts and comments are not allowed. The community will not be your attack dogs.
  9. No low-effort posts: Posts of photos without context, vague requests, non-specific questions with a quick web search, or other low-effort content that does not meaningfully contribute to the community and will be removed.
  10. No illegal posts: Posts or comments about topics that break the law will be removed. This includes questions about where to find recreational pot, shrooms, and other psychedelics.
  11. Unsubstantiated information: Do not post unsubstantiated rumors that cannot at least be backed up from a credible source.
