Subreddit Rules
- Not Following Reddiquette/Posting Proc.: Follow proper Reddiquette and the subreddit's posting procedures, including adding post flairs and keeping content in the appropriate pinned threads.
- Keep it civil and do not make threats or use excessive foul language. Harassment, trolling, and hate speech will not be tolerated and will quickly result in a ban. Creating an atmosphere of hostility will not be tolerated.
- Low Effort / Low Quality / Repost: Low effort/quality posts, recent reposts, chronically repetitive posts, and questions that are easily answered by a quick search may be removed.
- Low effort includes all erg posts except huge PR's or really interesting posts. 99% of erg screens should go in the Weekly Success Thread.
- Low effort meme posts include those with poor legibility or lazily compressed templates. Low effort memes can still go on r/RowingMemes.
- Low effort posts include AI-generated slop without context.
- advertising and no self promotion. This includes giveaways and promotional discounts. For charity events, please mod-mail us.
- If your name is the same as your product there is a good chance you will be permabanned.
- If you want to buy, trade, or sell Rowing gear, make a post on r/RowingTrades.
- AI-generated content may be considered spam and result in sanctions.
- No Regatta Results in Titles: Self-explanatory - we don't want spoilers.
- Please make your title descriptive: This means letting readers know roughly what your post will be about before they click. "Question" is not a good title for a post. Neither is "Help needed".
- Do not use excessive emoji characters in the titles of posts.
- No Personal Information of Others: AKA: "No doxxing." Displaying detailed personal information of anyone other than yourself is prohibited. Submission of content focused on ousting cheaters will be removed at the moderation team's discretion.
- Do not solicit or offer medical advice: This includes 'Has anyone else experienced this injury?' type posts.
- - Bodily Functions: Individual posts highlighting bodily functions such as bowel movements will be removed at discretion of the moderation team.
- "Don't be creepy" rule: Content that refers to or overtly sexualizes rowers may be removed at the discretion of the mods. Same goes for users.
- No impersonation: Don't post satire or derogatory posts posing as a member of crew that you don't belong to.
