- This includes coins, screenshots of AI-generated content (both ribbon racks and shadowboxes), digital ribbon-racks/medals (like EZRackBuilder and Uniformity) and patches. There are other subreddits for such things, such as r/Militariacollecting.
- Post Clear Photos: If you are coming here for help identifying your medal, ribbon, or order, please help us help you by posting clear, well-lit, and well-cropped photos or scans. We need to be able to see each part of your item in detail with not a lot of extraneous background.
- Black-and-white photos may prove difficult to identify, so please make sure there is as much detail as possible in the photo.
- No "What Did My <whatever> Do" or "What Do These Medals Mean" Posts: This sub isn't a career interpretation service.
- Posting a photo of a uniform, ribbon-rack/medals, or anything of the kind to ask about the person's career or service is not allowed. We recommend heading over to their respective military branches subreddit for those questions. Keep it to the medals and awards!
- No Memes/Joke Posts: Posting screenshots of fictional characters, memes, and other jokes is not allowed and will result in an automatic ban. While this is a veteran-adjacent subreddit, this is not a subreddit specifically for veterans and as such a lot of the conduct that is to be expected on veteran-centric subreddits is not welcome here.
- No Low-Effort Posts/Comments: Please include some history and/or background in your posts about the medals/ribbons you are posting. Please keep your responses informative for anyone asking about medals, ribbons, and awards. AI-generated responses are considered low-effort.
- Simplistic responses like "he was a badass," or "he stacked bodies" are considered low-effort responses and will be removed; repeated violations will result in a ban.
- No Off-Topic Posts or Responses: Top-level comments are reserved for medal and award-related comments. Off-topic comments further down a comment chain are allowed within reason.
- Political discussions of any kind are prohibited.
- No Personally Identifying Information: Do not post personally identifying information unless the person you are posting about is a public figure or person in the public eye. When posting orders or service records, make sure to edit the image to remove, blur, or otherwise obscure names and service/social security numbers.
- No Sales or Commercial Posts: Selling or advertising, both in posts or comments, is not allowed.

- No Supporting or Glorifying Nazi Ideology: German WWII medals are allowed for collection-showing, historical, educational, or for identification. Posts or comments praising Nazi ideology and/or glorifying awardees as heroes are prohibited.
- Posts with swastikas must either be blurred/covered or the post will be marked NSFW.
