Subreddit Rules
- Be civil: Rudeness, personal attacks, condescension, shaming, trolling, and provoking posts or comments will be removed. Automod is set up to auto remove posts/comments that receive multiple reports - which are then manually reviewed.
- Low effort posts will be removed: Please type your exact question into Google first! So many questions being posted on this sub is easily answered by Google. Low effort posts are those asking for easily "google-able" information, posts asking for overly generalised advice "what should I do with my money?" without providing context or details, posts that do not encourage any PF-related discussion, off-topic posts etc.
- Posts not related to personal finance: Off-topic posts will not be allowed.
- Advice requests requiring non-financial decision making not allowed: Unless provided with very specific financial context, broad advice requests posts that involve non-financial decision making (ie. requires decision made by personal preference) are not allowed. Example - which career should I choose?
- No "which car should I get" posts: Car model comparisons are NOT related to personal finance. Exceptions granted for rare circumstances (ie. cost-efficiency discussion of used vs new)
- No "which credit cards should I get" posts: Best credit cards for you are up to your personal spending pattern, a list of good cashback cards are available in the wiki.
- No "is this specific stock/property/business a good investment?" posts: This is a sub for personal finance, not one for investment speculation on specific investments. However, broadened scope posts may be allowed, subjected to review.
- Yes it's a scam: Any "investment opportunity" promising anything above 5/6% pa in "guaranteed returns" with "zero risk" involved is 100% a scam. Any "job opportunity" requiring you to pay them upfront is also a scam. Too good to be true? It's a scam
- No AI slop: Low effort or copy paste content from AI will be removed. If we wanted AI content, we wouldn't be on reddit.
