Subreddit Rules
- No Trolling, baiting, or hate speech.: This includes tagging members (or other MUD players/admins) to criticise them, personal attacks, discussing politics and other divisive issues unrelated to MUDding, and any arguing just for the sake of it.
- Hate speech is, in this case, defined as attacking traits such as race, sex, gender, sexuality, or religion, as well as any use of slurs, regardless of the intent behind them
- exceptions. Offenders will be directly banned.
- No NSFW content: This is a open community for all ages. Some MUDs do have adult content, and you are welcome to discuss them here, but keep in mind that young eyes may be reading.
- No Real Life Doxxing: Includes: posting RL names, addresses, emails, social media profile links (which point to the human and aren't some twitter character or official mud twitter account).
- These posts/replies will be removed and you will be banned forever no questions asked on the first offense.
- Doxxing someone's alt player character or their staff character on a MUD is not included in this.
- Promotional Posts: Games that cannot be connected to with commonly used MUD clients (such as Mudlet or Tintin) must be approved beforehand.
- The game name must be in the post title.
- Copy/pasted promotions, along with AI generated text in them, is not allowed.
- Games must wait at least 7 days from the last comment in their last promotion before promoting again.
- Flaring a promotion as anything else can result in a ban.
- No Low Effort Posts: Low effort posts of any kind will be removed. Link posts are disabled while image and video posts remain. If you make a post whether it be for Showcase, Promotion or any other reason you need to include adequate context and explanation of what's happening.
- One minor exception will be for simple question posts under Which MUD or Help labels by people who are clearly new to the genre and seeking knowledge or assistance which will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
- Ban Policy: Mild infractions will get a warning via a reply comment on the thread, or via private message. Greater infractions will result in a temporary ban, usually 30 days. Repeat offenders will be banned permanently. The Moderator decision is final; arguing/begging will be ignored.
- No Drama: Leniency may be given to funny drama. Gross drama will be removed.
- Use the flair!: All posts must be flaired. This enables the filters to show just the posts you are interested in.
- Promotional -- Any post made for the sole purpose of promoting or discussing your mud or mud related thing. This includes holiday/event announcements.
- Showcase -- Any post whereby you are showing off a feature of your mud to inspire discussion of it. Expect to answer people's questions about it. Making showcase posts and not being willing to entertain questions will make them Promotional posts.
