Subreddit Rules
  1. Be Nice: The main purpose of this subreddit is Jellycat appreciation. This is a happy corner of the internet dedicated to celebrating our beloved soft toys
  2. mean spirited posts or comments will be allowed. Critiques of the company and their actions are permitted, but please be mindful of people’s attachments to their Jellycats.
  3. Please keep in mind that moderating this subreddit is a hobby for the mod team and that we are in no way affiliated with the Jellycat company.
  4. Keep posts on-topic: This is a Jellycat subreddit. Please keep all posts related to Jellycats: i.e. no politics. Knockoffs/counterfeits, Jellycat-like designs from other companies, and AI generated images are all off-topic. Plushies from other brands may appear in photos, but please make sure that a Jellycat is the focus or the majority of the plushies are Jellycats. Fanart you have made yourself is allowed.
  5. Authenticity questions about potential counterfeits are not allowed as we cannot provide definitive answers.
  6. No consecutive posting: We want to allow everyone to post and not have the sub monopolised by one or a few users. To help this, please wait until at least three new posts have been made until you post again to give others an opportunity to participate. Please also do not spam a high volume of posts in a short space of time, even if there are three posts in between.
  7. No buying, selling, trading, pickups or giveaways. Help me find requests are allowed.: As this subreddit is about appreciation, please keep selling posts to appropriate platforms such as eBay, Mercari, etc.
  8. We accept "help me find" posts where users can help you locate the plush you are looking for. When responding to these posts, please only use links to retailers or secondhand platforms.
  9. Offers/requests for pickups fall under this rule.
  10. Further explanation of this rule can be found in our FAQ (/r/Jellycatplush/wiki/faq/)
  11. There is a b/s/t Jellycat subreddit (r/jellycatbst)
  12. No resale content: Similarly, we do not allow questions about resale values or content that help resellers gather information. This means no discussions about which Jellycats will gain the most value in the future, and no ‘tips or tricks’ to help resellers trick others into paying more money.
  13. We draw the line at mentioning secondhand prices above retail: above retail pricing is when resellers would start making a profit and is information that could help resellers figure out how much they can charge.
  14. No promotion: Please do not advertise or promote. For example (but not limited to) links to or naming: your Etsy shop, retail stores you work for, your own listings of Jellycats for sale on secondhand sites, your social media accounts/handles, and discord servers. The only exception to this rule is if you are replying to a ‘help me find’ post with a link to a reputable sales-front website (such as retailers or eBay).
  15. For research/journalism requests please contact the mod team for review before posting.
  16. No retail rebuttals: Similarly, we do not allow retailers to use this forum to rebut or refute members opinions about their business, store, website, customer service, etc. There are numerous review websites and services for such promotional activity, including Google Reviews, Trustpilot, and retailers’ own websites & apps. This subreddit is not intended or available to resolve retailer complaints.
  17. Spoiler unreleased collections: If you are posting pictures of an upcoming new Jellycat collection (i.e. not yet released) please clearly title your post and mark it as "spoiler". This is to allow those who wish to avoid spoilers to do so. Don’t describe the unreleased designs in the title. Before posting unreleased designs, check that they have not already been posted. Additionally, please use spoiler markings in comments if discussing leaks in non-spoiler posts.
  18. Keep it PG-13!: Our community welcomes members of all ages, so we ask that everyone keep the content suitable to all ages - nothing above the equivalent of a film rated 12/PG-13. This means no nudity, profanity or adult jokes.
  19. Furthermore, the moderators will ban accounts if deemed necessary to preserve the SFW nature of this subreddit.
  20. We want to add that if another member behaves inappropriately towards you, to please let us know by messaging the mods. We want everyone in our group to feel safe.
  21. No Jellycat store experience reservation requests : We do not allow requests for swapping/ trading/buying reservations for in-person Jellycat store experiences (which are non-transferable to begin with). General questions about in-store experiences are permitted.
  22. Do Not Armchair Diagnose People: Don’t armchair diagnose others (“it sounds like you’re autistic//have a shopping addiction/compulsion/etc.”). These statements often stigmatize people with those diagnoses, & it’s generally not useful to focus on disorders. If someone has asked specifically for help with how a diagnosis relates to their Jellycat collecting or is otherwise seeking advice, then you can comment with practical, non-judgemental advice. Do not offer unsolicited advice about a person's health or habits.
