- Group events should be kept in a single text post: For any group event, if there are multiple perspectives from multiple Hermits, those videos should be condensed into a single text post, rather than being posted separately. Guests who are not Hermits should also be included if available.
- No personal information, profanity, political, or NSFW content: The publishing of the personal information about yourself or someone else is strictly prohibited here, and could even get you shadowbanned from Reddit itself. Additionally, profanity, political, and NSFW posts, comments and usernames don't belong on /r/Hermitcraft. Any of these will result in a warning or a ban at our discretion.
- No nominating or suggesting anyone, including yourself, for the Hermitcraft server: The Hermits only accept nominations from existing members. Any posts asking to join, nominating someone else to join, petitioning to add someone or asking why someone is not on the whitelist yet will be removed.
- Self-promotion of any sort will be removed: Posting your own affiliate links, or any other kind of self-promotion including Minecraft and Discord servers will be removed, unless explicit permission from the moderators has been granted. Short YouTube videos are permitted provided they fit within the categories of Fan Art, Inspired Builds, or Hermitcraft-related tutorials. (Edited 2020-06-01)
- Maintain a welcoming and friendly environment: Witch hunting, hate speech, or severe incivility is not tolerated on r/Hermitcraft. Breaking this rule may result in your post/comment being removed and/or a temporary/permanent ban. Every post will be judged on a case-by-case basis as to whether it breaks this rule.
- Defacing a wiki page in any way is prohibited: Vandalizing any page of the /r/Hermitcraft wiki may result in either a warning or a temporary/permanent subreddit ban.
- No memes. Please post memes to r/Hermitcraftmemes instead.: Memes are not allowed in this subreddit as we have a separate sister community for them. Head over to r/Hermitcraftmemes for all your meme needs. This includes still images, video memes and animation memes. (Edited 2020-06-01)
- Search for duplicates before posting: Please check the recent posts to this subreddit to make sure you are not posting a duplicate. Moderators may remove any duplicate or markedly similar post, with particular focus on those appearing more than once in a 7 day period. If you are reposting content made by another person, please credit them in your post or in a comment.
- No unmasked spoilers for the first 24 hours after a video goes live: Posts with spoilers in the title and comments containing unmasked spoilers will be removed. Posts containing spoilers must be masked using Reddit's built in spoiler protection feature. Staff may temporarily lock posts that are spawning spoiler comments at a high rate.
- Avoid flooding the subreddit: Avoid posting too many times in a short period of time. A general rule of thumb is no submit no more than three posts in a 24 hour period.
- Check the Topics To Avoid page before posting: In the interest of keeping things friendly and fresh, posts about things on the [Topics To Avoid](https://reddit.com/r/Hermitcraft/wiki/topics_to_avoid) list are subject to removal.
- Use post titles that describe the content of your post: To make the community easier to search, your post title should clearly describe the content of your post.
