Subreddit Rules
- Keep a Civil Discussion/No Discrimination.: Be civil when discussing a topic with another person. A little lighthearted trash talk with a rival/opponent is fine, but don't let it get out of hand or personal. We expect users to treat each other with respect. Additionally, any comments or posts that have racial, ethnic, homophobic, or otherwise offensive slurs in them will be removed. Users making these comments, especially repeatedly, can expect a long or even permanent ban.
- No Cross-Subreddit Trolling/Harassment.: You make all of us look bad when you go into the Bruins subreddit and heckle and harass users after they lose. You wouldn't like other team's fans coming here and harassing you, so don't do it to others. This rule also applies to fans of opposing teams coming into /r/Habs to mock users here.
- Posts must be related to the Canadiens.: All posts must be related to the Montreal Canadiens in some way. This means posts relating to the Canadiens' affiliate teams in the AHL (Laval Rocket), ECHL, CWHL (Canadiennes de Montreal), Canadiens prospects in the CHL, NCAA, Europe, and Russia, and other league news that pertains to the Canadiens are allowed. Any other posts will be removed.
- No Editorialized/Vague/Bad Titles.: Your headline should match the article's headline, or quote the article to accurately represent the content of your submission. Keep the title spelt correctly and ideally searchable.
- No False or Intentionally Misleading Posts.: It's not funny. The posts will be removed and you will be at risk of a possible ban. There is wiggle room, if you are a regular user and the moderation team believes you were just genuinely mislead we will understand.
- No Low Content or Contentless Posts, Non-Contributing/Karma Farming/Low-Effort/AI Created Content: Posts like "Wasn't that goal amazing" or "what a crappy call" belong in the game threads/post game threads, or should be accompanied by some clip or image of what you are talking about. Memes do not necessarily constitute as a low content, but we would appreciate some level of effort or cleverness to be put into them. Content must be created by humans and not bots/AI though there is room to allow discussion of newsworthy aspects of AI content
- No Duplicates/Reposts.: Duplicate posts and reposts will be removed. In the case that there are multiple threads of the same piece of news posted at the same time, the one with the most discussion will stay up. In the case that the same piece of news or article is posted, but at different times, the first post of the news/article will be kept.
- No Content Theft/ Uncredited Content Farming: All content must be linked to the source unless you are the one who created it.
- Auto XSub Pact Ban: Auto XSub Pact Ban
- No Merch/Ticket Reselling.: Any posts attempting to resell merchandise or tickets will be removed. This is to avoid spammers linking to fraudulent websites and scams. Only links to official suppliers will be tolerated, with the exception of referral links that provide OP with a kickback. The gifting of tickets or merchandise is permitted, however.
- Sharing/Promoting/Requesting pirated or unauthorized streams is strictly prohibited: There is a zero-tolerance policy regarding pirated or unauthorized streams and sites. This includes suggesting or directing other users to such domains, commenting "DM me a link", emoji-glyphics, etcetera. It is a bannable offense, and you may not get a 2nd chance!
- No Politics.: This is a subreddit for hockey. Not politics. Liberal, Conservative, NDP, Bloq, Democrat, Republican; it doesn't matter! Jokes are ok, but this isn't a place for serious political discussion and not a place to put down others for their beliefs or views. Discussing politics in the Weekend Free Talk threads are ok though.
- No Metadrama: If you have a issue with specific user, moderation, or general culture of the subreddit. Please message the moderators. Links to send us a message can be found on the sidebar.
- Ban Evasion: Account flagged by Reddit for ban evasion
- A post or comment needs review but doesn't fall under any above category. :
