Subreddit Rules
  1. No trolling, flaming, insulting, discrimination, or rudeness.: These are your typical "internet common sense" rules.
  2. This rule includes, but is not limited to:
  3. - Anti-furry remarks - Flaming, trolling, excessive arguing in bad faith - Crude or demeaning language towards others or their work - Insulting critique - Discriminatory remarks - Bullying, harassment, or stalking
  4. Hate of any kind will not be tolerated, please remember the human on the other end of your words.
  5. Stay on topic: Please keep submissions related to our sub topic. Our community is trying to provide a niche focused on the *making* and artistic process of fursuits, cosplay, and similar. This isn't really the place for general furry art, nor is it the place for advertising.
  6. Users are encouraged to show off their final creations once when they finish, sure!
  7. Posts that lean too close to 'advertisement' of services or a finished product may be subject to removal at mod discretion.
  8. Keep things PG-13: We’re accepting of all ages here, so let's try our best to keep it appropriate.
  9. Please be considerate and add a spoiler flair to your post if it includes fursuits or art/refs depicting:
  10. - excessive blood/gore/severe injuries
  11. - rot/death/maggot-infestation type stuff
  12. Please DO NOT post your projects if they include:
  13. - sexually suggestive themes, imagery, or poses
  14. - anything outwardly NSFW such as exposed private areas or sexual objects
  15. - kink or fetish suits
  16. No advertising commissions, selling products, or "looking for maker" posts: Not allowed:
  17. - rehoming, trade, commission, premade adoption, or any type of sales ads - any attempt to redirect users off-site to a commission-related platform - 'LF maker' or 'who should I commission' ads - soliciting users for commission work ("do you take comms?")
  18. Attempts to subtly dodge this rule are also not allowed and will result in removal.
  19. This is for the learning & crafting aspect of furry. It should be ad-free to foster genuine community interaction.
  20. No "Pricing Help" Posts: We do not allow posts discussing pricing estimates.
  21. Please see [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/FursuitMaking/comments/1jofnti/rule_change_posts_asking_for_help_pricing_their/) for details.
  22. We understand it may be difficult for new makers to find their place in the market. We suggest:
  23. - trying out prices you feel are fair
  24. - browse The Dealer's Den, see what people are paying for costumes made with a similar skill level to your own
  25. - discuss with client
  26. No scammers, scams, spam, etc.: See [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/FursuitMaking/comments/1ixt9fs/read_before_posting_safety_tips_for_using_reddit/) for scam avoidance and safety tips.
  27. Suspected scam posts will be removed at mod team discretion. If your post was removed by mistake, please contact us via modmail with details, ideally proving your legitimacy.
  28. Please be understanding, as this can be a difficult process to get right, but is a necessary evil to keep the subreddit safe!
  29. Credit other maker's work.: You must include credit for others' work. Your own creations do not require typed credit.
  30. - 1 current/up-to-date username
  31. - a link to website or social media
  32. - either of these must be typed out in the title, post body, or included in a comment (as soon as you can) after posting
  33. Not credit:
  34. - I found it on pinterest/google
  35. - credit to the artist/I don't know who it is
  36. See [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/FursuitMaking/s/nuIaQIXZDs).
  37. Unsolicited critique: Please remember to only give constructive criticism or critique if the OP explicitly asks for it!
  38. While we understand providing critique and tips can feel like you're helping (and it often is helpful), sometimes people just want to show off what they've made! Let people have that moment. We want people of all skill levels to feel like they can share their work without it being an automatic invitation for criticism.
  39. Please only provide critique when it's wanted.
  40. No AI / No pro-AI arguments.: We do not allow generative AI imagery, audio, video, or text to be posted in our subreddit. Additionally, we do not allow arguments or discussions in favor of generative AI.
  41. [See this post](<https://www.reddit.com/r/FursuitMaking/comments/1oydfxt/generative_ai/>).
  42. This isn't the space for 'beware' posts.: As much as we agree it's important for the furry community to be able to talk about serious issues with makers and artists, our subreddit is not the appropriate space to do so - even if it's fursuit related.
  43. We aren't customer support: If you're having an issue with your fursuit maker, take it up with them. We are not equipped to advice for disputes, transactions, shipping issues, fulfillment issues, legal advice, etc. Please reach out to your maker, make sure you've reviewed their Terms of Service, and have exhausted all forms of contact with them if you're having an issue. We are a community about DIY and unfortunately it is above our paygrade to deal with situations such as client and commissioner disputes and disagreements
