- Experiencer Safe Space: **Do not discount anyone’s experiences.** We want people to be able to communicate their experiences without fear of judgment. Questions are encouraged, but only in an attempt to understand, not to disqualify what someone else experienced. Comments or posts that dehumanize experiencers or feed into dehumanizing narratives on experiencers are also against our rules.
- No discussion of mental health diagnoses (except anxiety, depression, PTSD, and Neurodivergence): Accusing users of mental illness WILL result in a ban!
- Due to the complicated nature of this subject and for the safety of both our contributors and our community, we ask that users not disclose ANY prior mental health diagnosis in our subreddit. This includes bipolar, borderline (BPD), schizoaffective, psychosis, delusions, etc. (You may discuss depression, PTSD, anxiety, and neurodivergence in broad terms; but we still ask that you be mindful of disclosing any official diagnosis.)
- Authoritative Tone: We ask users to share their experiences, not preach. The only thing we are confident about in this phenmomon is that no single person is an oracle with all the answers. Many people are told conflicting things by the beings themselves.
- For community health we ask you to avoid presenting yourself as being the single oracle for truth over others or implying you speak on behalf of NHI/XYZ deity. This is a space for open dialogue and shared experiences. Share as opinion not as undisputable fact.
- This subreddit is not the place for debate on existence of anomalous phenomenon. : This subreddit is a space for open-minded discussion of anomalous phenomena (any experience which is outside of current scientific understanding). While you don’t have to believe every post or interpretation, we ask that you keep doubts or prosaic explanations to yourself. Most skeptics lack firsthand experience yet feel certain they understand it all—that’s not curiosity, and it’s not helpful here.
- Post Limits: In an effort to maintain content quality, we ask users to limit posts about personal experiences to one per week. This includes Experience, Contact, Abduction, Sighting, CE5, and Update posts.
- Be Polite. Be mindful of Unnecessary and Excessive Negativity: If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. We have no reason to allow people to participate in the subreddit if they can’t communicate civilly, and won’t hesitate to ban users who feel the need to be sarcastic or rude.
- If you disagree with someone, do it politely and explain why. The mods have final discretion on politeness.
- No Photos or Videos Without a Comprehensive Experience Shared: Photos or videos are likely to be intensely scrutinized and dismissed as prosaic unless they are 100% unambiguously anomalous, even in this subreddit. For this reason we ask that attached media be secondary to the experience being shared, otherwise the post is likely to be removed for the benefit of the OP as well as the community.
- Unambiguous evidence of the phenomenon is exceedingly rare, and the Experiencers themselves are often a poor judge of how persuasive it may be.
- Posts/comments should be easy for most people to understand.: Posts or comments must be coherent and comprehensible. Content that appears disjointed, nonsensical, or lacking in clarity may be removed at moderator discretion. This includes large blocks of text without paragraph breaks. Users who exhibit a pattern of this behavior may be banned.
- Foster respectful and meaningful discussions: Please keep posts and comments constructive and respectful. Avoid sarcasm, puns, clickbait, “does anyone else feel…” posts, AI-generated or assisted content, drama, or self-promotion (such as blogs or YouTube channels). This subreddit is a space for meaningful and thoughtful discussions. We want to maintain a positive and engaging environment where experiencers feel welcome and supported, free from unnecessary negativity or distractions. Any argument can also be phrased as a polite discussion.
- No AI/LLM generated text posts or comments. AI based experiences are also not supported in this sub.: We have made the decision to limit posts related to use of AI/LLMs/chatbots.
- We are here to share with people as a social support group where human interaction is huge component of our support model. Please do not create posts or comments using AI, even for grammar purposes.
- We also do not support AI related experiences or "I spoke to NHI via ChatGPT" like posts. This is a complex issue, and this sub has decided to stay focused on traditional contact experiences for now. Thank you.
- No Doomspeak
- prophesizing about the end of the world, the end of humanity, mass extinction, etc. If your experience contained the classic examples of some message similar to this, it is okay to include it as a 'part' of sharing an experience event but we do not want posts or this sub to be centered around these messages for the health of this community. If the world ends, we'll update this rule.
- No Politics, Conspiracy Theories, Prison Planet Dogma or Religious Proselytizing: There’s no need to bring politics into these discussions, and aside from a basic agreement that governments have denied the existence of UFOs/NHI, we discourage discussion of conspiracy theories. Naming controversial public figures irrelevant to the discussion may also result in comment removal.
- Religious terms or ideas are acceptable if they display tolerance of other beliefs, but proselytizing or heavy religious dogma is discouraged. Please see our rule on Authoritative Tone.
- Bot accounts, hostile behavior, bad apples.: Due to the dramatic rise in AI/bot activity we are cracking down on accounts which display suspicious behaviors. This includes accounts which have sporadic posting histories, have deleted a significant number of posts or comments, or attempts to circumvent the automod, among other things.
- If you feel this is in error please contact the moderators and ask for a review, but keep in mind we may require you to jump through hoops to prove you’re human (up to and including video verification).
