Subreddit Rules
  1. Civility and respect: If you cannot treat others with respect, you will not be welcome here.
  2. No advertising : Advertising is strictly prohibited. This includes travel agents/agencies, sponsored links, and fundraising.
  3. Roll Calls: Roll calls are used to find other users who are going on a particular cruise. Individual roll call threads are not permitted and will be removed.
  4. Facebook groups are a better place to look for roll calls.
  5. Spam: /r/Cruise has a very strict spam policy, which includes most forms of self-produced content (even if not monetized), self-promotion, and advertising. Please review the [wiki](/r/Cruise/wiki/rules) for more information.
  6. Check The Wiki: The /r/Cruise wiki contains many answers to common questions. Please read it before posting - duplicate posts will be removed.
  7. "Can I bring my weed?": These questions will no longer allowed, unless there is a major announcement in regard to marijuana use on cruise ships. Use the search bar to find the many past questions that have been answered ad nauseum.
  8. Personal Photos: We know that you're excited from a having a great time on your vacation, but please don't post pictures of yourself or other people here. This isn't Instagram, so save the pictures for there, no matter how great you look rocking new suit in Puerto Rico. High quality pictures of ships, destinations, etc. are allowed, but this sub is not your personal photo album. Low quality photos will be removed at the moderators' discretion.
  9. Discussion of Sexual Content: Explicit sexual content is not permitted on /r/Cruise. We understand that some couples, especially those new to cruising, may have questions about the "motion of their ocean" on the ship. Posts discussing sexual topics are permitted *so long as the discussion is relevant to other cruisers.* Please ensure you tag any such content as "NSFW" before posting.
  10. Misinformed : Misinformation is not allowed and may result in a permanent ban.
  11. Political Discussion: Cruising and politics may intersect at times. Discussion of laws and policy to the extent they relate to cruising is permitted; however, discussions must remain focused on cruising and respectful. Name-calling, harassment, and political trolling will result in a permanent ban. Cruisers are free to express their opinions about COVID-related policies that pertain to cruising; however, the promotion of COVID-19 misinformation is not permitted and will result in a ban.
  12. How to break Cruiseline rules: Posts and comments asking or advising how to work around cruise line rules (e.g. vaping where not allowed, how to smuggle drinks/drugs/etc. onboard, etc.) are not allowed and will be removed.
  13. Cruise lines set rules for a multitude of reasons, and while you might not like them, you are indicating you will abide by those rules when booking a cruise. Don't like it? Don't book a cruise.
  14. Don't stir the pot: Your post/comment has been removed because it is "stirring the pot", that is, the topic incites drama and other rulebreaking behavior (even if not by you). Making broad generalizations about groups of people generally results in trolling, flamewars, brigading, and contributes very little in the way of productive discussion.
  15. AMA: All AMAs (ask me anything's) need to be approved by the mods first.
  16. No AI content: The r/Cruise subreddit will not allow posts or comments made using AI and any post or comment that is suspected to be made by AI is subject to removal.
