Subreddit Rules
  1. New accounts and Karma thresholds: WELCOME PAINED PEOPLE! We want you here but....
  2. If your account is too new/too low amount of karma, your post/comment will be removed by automoderator. This helps the moderators cut back on spam and low effort posts. The mods of this subreddit also have severe chronic pain and a medley of other energy zapping illnesses. Please consider building your karma in other subreddits and come back once you have karma/been on Reddit for a bit. It wont take long!
  3. Chronic pain means neverending pain: This is not a subreddit for people who have new pain that has been around for a little bit. This is a subreddit for folks who have chronic pain lasting months and years, not days and weeks. If you have acute pain, this isn't the right subreddit for you (lucky!).
  4. Soliciting and giving medical advice: Do not ask us to diagnose you
  5. users are verified medical professionals. Always discuss your health with a doctor before posting. DO NOT ASK US FOR DOCTOR RECOMMENDATIONS. Do your own research, post in local subreddits those doctors practice for local reviews. We are not the right subreddit for doctor recommendations!
  6. It is ok to ask for advice if you have seen doctors. You should always seek a second opinion if your condition is not improving.
  7. Suspicious medication questions - IE drug seeking: DO NOT ASK HOW TO OBTAIN MEDICATIONS. This is how we ended up with pain medications being withheld from legitimate pain patients. Work with your doctor, or see another one. There is no for sure method to get the medications you need. It is a lot of trial and error to get to the sweet spot where you're OK.
  8. NO STUDIES, SURVEYS, FOCUS GROUPS, SPAM (including promoting apps/sites), OR AI: To protect users from harmful and improper management of survey data and unpaid usage of our communities time (a chance to win a giftcard is not compensation for the time and effort of humans).
  9. End of life decisions MAID: We allow members to post about wanting to discuss end of life decisions. This is allowed in many states and countries. Pain does things to people. They need to vent these feelings to prevent suicides from actually happening.
  10. Creating drama: DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU DISAGREE WITH A PERSON OR THEY HURT YOUR FEELINGS. Use the downvote button for that.
  11. Keeping a low drama environment is very important to us. We want everyone to feel safe here. Unnecessary drama can hinder that. If you see something SERIOUSLY awry, report it and we'll look into it.
  12. Do not report arguments where people can't let it go. Please downvote, do not comment, and move on. DO NOT FEED THE PAIN TROLLS.
  13. REPORTS ARE FOR RULEBREAKING ONLY: DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU DISAGREE WITH A PERSON OR THEY HURT YOUR FEELINGS. Use the downvote button for that.
