Subreddit Rules
- Be Respectful: Debate is welcome, respect is not optional. You can attack the argument but you may not attack the person.
- This includes making generalizing negative statements about any group of people. (Including health care workers. They are people too. Companies and corporations are not considered people.)
- Name calling is not welcome here. Slurs will earn you a permanent ban.
- 'Just Support' post flair: These posts have special rules to give our members a safe place to seek solely support. Under posts tagged with this flair discussions or different opinions than OP will not be allowed. Only support. Please respect this when you comment.
- The flair is not for sharing articles, misinformation, opinions intended to stir controversy, or venting about someone on Reddit and the post will be removed if the flair is misused. Reddit content policy still applies also.
- No Asking for Donations: We can't allow posting of donation requests due to our inability to moderate and validate those kind of posts.
- No Surveys Or Interviews: We do not allow surveys or interviews. This is purely a support forum.
- Anything that solicits members to help with a personal project is most likely in violation of this rule. If unsure, please message mod mail BEFORE posting.
- We will occasionally allow survey/interview requests if they are PAID to participate in. Mod mail must be contacted for approval before posting.
- Medical Studies Require Preapproval: We allow formal medical studies in our subreddit, but you have to contact us prior via mod mail and present the study. DO NOT post your study before we give you the okay.
- Please understand it may take us a while to verify the validity of a study before we allow it to be posted.
- One Post Of A Channel/Blog Per Month - No Other Self Promotion: One post per month of a personal blog, YouTube channel, podcast, discord, or (chronic illness) subreddit you want to promote.
- If you are posting another group that is not a public subreddit you must either be a mod, or have approval from their mods to post. *Due to the unclear nature of reddit rules, we do not allow links to Facebook groups.*
- Self promotion of a shop, service or anything that brings you financial gain is not allowed and may lead to a ban. We do not allow promotion of apps.
- Unsolicited Advice & Diagnosing Others: Don't diagnose people over the internet, leave that for professionals in real life.
- Don't give others advice unless they asked you to do it. You can speculate or give your opinion if people actively ask for it, as long as you make it clear that it's just that: an opinion or speculation.
- You may encourage people to seek a second opinion. For the safety of everyone, we do not allow people to tell others to go against their doctor's orders.
- Always Consult a Doctor/No Usage Of Meds Without Medical Supervision: Anything meant to replace a conversation with a doctor is not allowed here. Asking for a diagnosis or any medical advice is not allowed.
- Med use should be supervised by a doctor. We don't allow any content about illegal substances, prescription meds not prescribed to you, using prescription meds other than how they were prescribed, and using OTC meds differently than the instructions on the packaging. This also applies to anything prescribed by a doctor, including durable medical equipment.
- No Claiming Professional Credentials: As this is Reddit and users are largely anonymous we have no way to verify anyone is who they say they are. Because of this, for the safety of everyone here we do not allow anyone to claim any sort of professional credentials as a health care worker. This is to prevent anyone giving harmful or misleading information while appearing to be a trusted source.
- Tag Sensitive Topics NSFW/Spoiler: Tag 'NSFW' and 'Spoiler' if your post contains sensitive topics so everybody is on the same page and we can have a healthy conversation. If you're posting something potentially triggering please add a TW into your title. Sensitive topics include things such as, suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, discussion of weight, abuse, any content talking about sex or graphic in nature including medical things like vomit or wounds, etc.
- Titles should not contain triggering or NSFW content.
- No Brigading: Don't use this subreddit to hunt down other subreddits. If you post content from somewhere else in a negative way, if you interact negatively with something from another sub that was cross posted here, or your post comes close to brigading, we will remove your post, and you will be TEMPORARILY BANNED first offense. Repeated offenses will result in a PERMANENT BAN.
- Other sub’s names and usernames must be redacted. Do not post about an interaction we can find in your comment history.
- No Spam or Low-Effort Submissions: We do not allow "AMA" posts, or "AITA" posts.
- Do not repeatedly submit the same, or extremely similar, content in a thread or across the subreddit.
- Mods may remove "low-effort" content. There is no minimum length for your post, but we do ask that you contribute meaningfully. Please respect the time and energy of other community members by not using us in place of a search engine.
- Please also include paragraph breaks in your post, long posts are inaccessible to many users.
- Mods have final say: You are welcome to ask for clarification on why mods took a certain action if it has not previously been explained. You may respectfully explain why you feel mods misunderstood you and your content did not violate the rules, once. Continued argument with mod rulings beyond this will be considered harassment.
- Additionally users are not allowed to "back seat mod".
- We reserve the right to remove anything that does not fit the spirit of this community
- Do not repost removed content.
- Images must have a text description: To keep our sub accessible to as many people as possible please include a text description of any images in your post.
- We also do not allow images that only contain text as this makes things needlessly inaccessible.
- AI Policy: You may utilize AI tools to organize or translate text for your post. We do not allow the recommendation of AI for any medical purposes - posts promoting AI tools for seeking medical information, diagnosis, etc. will be removed. Accounts that appear to be entirely AI generated may be flagged and restricted from posting.
