Subreddit Rules
- No direct advertising: - If someone creates a post where they are looking for recommendations/suggestions, and it’s something you sell and have in stock, it’s OK.
- - There is now a pinned thread for self promotion and advertising. You can post there. Surveys, giveaways, contests and similar should be posted there as well.
- - You are allowed to create posts related to your products, if you are looking for constructive feedback etc. But you can not create a post just to promote/sell your products.
- Keep discussions civil.: - Be nice to everyone; don't judge someone because they don't know a particular thing about candles.
- - Don't be rude, i.e. singling out users, using personal attacks or derogatory language, picking fights, trolling, etc.
- No spam/self promotion: - Similar to the ”no direct advertising” rule. The difference is if your main purpose is to promote your product in pretty much all posts/comments. Even if you follow the no direct advertising rule, and just recommend/suggest candles people are looking for and so on.
- - Some people/stores/candle makers are here mainly for promoting their business. Occasionally, it would be fine. But not if the majority or all of your posts/comments are about your products and what you sell.
- Stay on topic: - Comments that add nothing to the discussion will be removed (e.g. "lol", "this", "I agree", or an emoji). The same if you are going to joke, or be off topic in other ways.
- - Stay on topic. When creating a new discussion thread, give a clear topic title. When contributing to an existing discussion, try to stay 'on topic'. If something new comes up within a topic that you would like to discuss, start a new thread.
- No trolling, low effort or irrelevant posts.: - If you just want to provoke others, don’t post it here.
- - No low effort posts
- memes, no links without context, vague or misleading titles, posts that are not about candles and so on. Or a post that was not really thought about and does not really hold up to more discussion.
- No unsafe advice: Candles are to be enjoyed safely
- comments encouraging people to add flammable materials such as botanicals/food stuffs or crystals will be allowed. These are a major fire hazard and voids sellers insurance.
- Users should also avoid creating posts about adding such items in their candles, as it may be unsafe and/or lead to such comments.
- Write in English: All posts and comments need to be in English. We know users speak different languages, but this subreddit’s official language is English - any level welcome! If you post anything in a language other than English you need to also provide a full translation.
