- All posts must be in the form of a question: It’s called AskModerators for a reason. Post titles must be a question. Posts that are just to rant, complain, etc., will be removed.
- Be respectful: Talk to others as you would want them to talk to you. Namecalling, insults, personal attacks, etc. will not be tolerated. If Mister Rogers wouldn’t say it, expect your comment to be removed.
- Referencing other subreddits / subreddit moderators: Do not name mods or subreddits. Exception: moderators mentioning their own subreddits for non promotional reasons.
- No derailing comment threads: If you want to have a back-and-forth “discussion” with another user, do so in private messages or chat. This is not the place for two users to go back and forth with each other. Far too often, that ends up with one or both users wanting the proverbial last word and there’s little, if any, productive commentary.
- Do not hijack posts with personal anecdotes. If you aren’t a mod with provable experience don’t comment unless it is a follow up question to clarify an answer a mod has given.
- Minimum account age/karma to post and comment: To help eliminate spam and trolls, as well as banned users attempting to ban evade, this subreddit implements a minimum account age and karma to post and comment. We do not give out the specific numbers for either requirement.
- Zero tolerance for endorsing/encouraging ban evasion: Ban evasion is against Reddit’s site-wide rules. Comments encouraging or endorsing ban evasion will be removed and users will be subject to ban from this subreddit.
- Do not post about being banned from subreddits.: This isn’t a place to appeal a ban. If you want insight as to why you were banned you will have to ask the banning mod team, this community is not the subreddit you were banned from.
- Answers to questions are expected to be from mods.: Mods are expected to have provable experience, meaning moderate communities with a significant amount of weekly active users.
- No soapboxing.
- soapboxing. This isn’t a vent about mods subreddit. This is a subreddit for users to ask moderators questions. The chance you are asking the exact mods you are upset about here are almost nil. The mods who answer here aren’t psychics and don’t know why that mod did whatever they did.
- Disruptive behavior: If you post a question that is approved and answered, and delete it, you are subject to ban.
- The answers provided here are valuable, and deleting your questions because you don’t like the answers or otherwise wastes a lot of people’s time.
