- Don't discourage eating meat and organs: This means any generalized discouragement on the eating of "meat" (including eggs and dairy). Cautioning on the use of corn & soy feeds for chicken and pork and PUFA content is fine. Cautioning on grain-fed ruminants. vs grass-fed is fine. Cautioning on heavy metals or PFAS in seafood is fine. Discouraging meat in general is not. Promoting plant-based diets is not. NOTE: Civil debate is allowed in the Daily Discussion post.
- Don't discourage the consumption of AB Carbs: The benefits of the Animal Based diet is based on the inclusion of clean carbohydrates such as fruit, honey, dairy, and maple syrup, etc. AB is not a ketogenic diet, it's not a carnivore diet. Fruit & honey can still be consumed while remaining in ketosis. Animal Based does not recommend long term ketosis. Minimal recommend carbs is >= 75g net. (AB macro calculator is a good start)
- NOTE: Civil debate is allowed in the Daily Discussion post.
- Don't promote consuming Plant Defense Chemicals: The AB diet is about clean eating, no processed foods, no synthetic ingredients, minimal PUFA, and minimal plant defense chemicals.
- If vegetables are consumed advocate preparing them in ways that greatly reduces oxalates, lectins, phytates, heavy metals, and of course linoleic acid.
- Veg posts should encourage these methods (i.e. Fermenting, soaking, chelating, sprouting, pressure cooking, removing seeds/peels, etc).
- NOTE: Civil debate on this is allowed in the Daily Discussion post.
- Be Respectful and Kind: Do not bully, insult, belittle, or attack others. This includes those who are transition to, struggling in, or deciding to transition out of AB.
- In short, simply "don't be a jerk".
- No Spamming or Trolling
- advertising products and or services here
- posting the same thing multiple times. No posting one liners that flirt with breaking other rules that are only intended to aggravate and annoy the context of this sub. This rule has a zero tolerance policy.
- Meal Pics Require a Description, and should showcase all AB Macros: Meal pics shouldn’t have us guessing, not squinting. Also we’re AB so please showcase all macros. We reserve the right to not approve a boring pic (no offense banana and burger patty nor IC for Bears, just saw ya a bazillion times already), or a gross raw meat meal pic (sorry you people).
- NOTE: This rule does not apply in the Daily Discussion post
- No Body Photos: In order to protect the privacy, safety and security of our users we do not permit the posting of body or face photos. These are allowed, via link, in the recurring Daily Discussion post.
- Don't discourage consuming Raw Dairy: This way of eating supports the multitudes of benefits of raw milk. Discussing how to minimize risks from choosing a raw dairy, what to do is infection is suspected is fine. Posts or comments that discourage raw milk are not.
- Labwork Flaired Posts Minimum Requirements: To use this flair, you need to be on AB for a min of 6 months. Your post requires a minimum at least the following 3 biomarkers.
