Subreddit Rules
- AMAs Only: This subreddit is exclusively for AMAs (Ask Me Anything). Avoid posting personal questions, advice requests, unrelated content. For other discussions, use a more suitable subreddit.
- Be Civil: Any rude/harassing behavior or hate will be removed. Bigotry in any form such as racism, transphobia, homophobia, and any other hatred of peoples will not be tolerated. Further action may be taken if needed. This is a zero tolerance policy.
- Post Quality: Posts must share meaningful experiences, unique perspectives, or interesting stories (for example, your job, achievements, or hobbies). AI Content is never allowed on our subreddit. Low effort posts, such as those without context, trivial topics like “I’m drunk,” or troll and joke content, will be removed. Posts created only to share personal opinions or spark controversy are not allowed.
- Stay On-Topic: AMA commenters are expected to ask genuine questions or make relevant remarks. Off-topic or non-question comments will be removed. The point of the subreddit is for users to ask and answer questions.
- Host Participation: The original poster must answer questions within a reasonable time frame. Not all questions have to be answered but we want to see that OP is active in their thread. We generally give 3 hours, but if you say at the end of your post that you will answer at a later time then it won't be removed.
- Banned Topics: To reduce repetition and promote originality, the following common AMA topics are not allowed: drug use and recovery, mental health or neurodevelopmental conditions, Relationship or dating AMAs, Sexuality or gender identity-only AMAs, suicide, personal beliefs and religion, and venting or confession-style posts. We encourage everyone to share their stories, but the topic must stand out. Use your post to focus on experiences, not labels.
- No NSFW Content: NSFW content is not allowed in this subreddit. This includes sexual posts, references to sexual assault or abuse, and any other explicit or inappropriate material. The goal is to keep the community safe and appropriate for all users.
- No Fake Stories: Do not make posts contradicting previous posts (ex: be 20 years old in one post and 30 years old in a previous post) or make posts that are obviously untrue (ex: I am a World War 1 veteran, AMA!) You may be asked by the mods through modmail for verification if a claim seems unbelievable.
- No Duplicate or Common Posts: Posts that repeat the same short-term trend, event, or topic are subject to removal if they begin to overwhelm the subreddit. While individual experiences are welcome, we may limit posts that are excessively common or duplicative in order to keep content varied and engaging.
- No Advertisements: Posts or comments may not be used to advertise, promote, or solicit products, services, or communities. This includes direct links, self-promotion, or disguised advertising.
