Subreddit Rules
- Must be related to ADHD:
- No AI Genersted Posts
- Accusing People of Being AI:
- Be kind and respectful to one another, be supportive, and include trigger/content warnings:
- No Insults, Antagonizing Others, or Trolling: * No Insults * Do not ask to only speak with people who score high on IQ tests
- bragging about having a high IQ. This is not a disability/difference, and it attracts ableists/eugenicists to the subreddit. * Do NOT promote ableist and pro-eugenic programs or concepts. * Capitalism does NOT cause ADHD and Socialism will NOT cure it either. Ableism exists in all systems. * Stimulant meds do not cure substance abuse and do not claim they do.
- trolling or asking others to troll for you
- No research requests: This subreddit is for people in the community to discuss our lives. Therefore, we're not currently approving studies at this time.
- No Crowd-Funding, Marketing, or Engagement Bait
- Crowd-Funding, Marketing, or Engagement Bait
- People on Reddit cannot diagnose you OR know for sure if you actually have ADHD:
- Do not post personal information, images, or film unless all parties involved agreed: Do not post personal information, images, or film unless all parties involved agreed to such actions. Consent is imperative and if everyone involved is comfortable then, you are more than welcome to share. (Please note, this is only for personal information that deals with one's legal, or real-life identity.)
- No Tagging or directly naming a subreddit whose leadership is targeting and/ or harassing us: * We understand that there are some ongoing concerns within another community. However, it is important that we keep their unstable decisions, behavior, and misinformation among other things out of ours. * If you are unsure that a community is acceptable please message the mods first.
- Do not tag the usernames of people in other communities.: If someone does not want to converse with members of the sub, then do not tag their usernames. If in doubt, it is best that you do not place a URL into the text that contains a username. If one fails to follow this rule, it will result in the removal of their post, until the tagged names are withdrawn. Once the tagged name is removed from the post; you will need to contact the moderation team in order to get it approved.
- No Violence and Inciting Violence: * This includes threatening to harm others and trying to get users to act on your behalf. The second is terminology, which is often viewed as perpetuating negative and malign stereotypes; this includes terms associated with extremist calls to violent and illegal action. * Formally or unofficially acting as ABA/[Judge Rotenberg Center's](https://abcnews.go.com/images/Nightline/HT_US_Report_4_30_10_100630.pdf) reputation management or PR.
- Read the "What the Neurodiversity Movement promotes" post before posting/commenting on the topic.: * [The post is here](https://www.reddit.com/r/neurodiversity/comments/jsrak3/what_the_neurodiversity_movement_promotes/)
- Do not use the term self-diagnosed outside of the autistic community. There are differences/conditions that can mimic dangerous ones and/or the term self diagnosed was used as an insult in the past: dyslexic/LD community. You must respect that every neurotribe/ condition has its own culture/needs.
- Correct any rule violations that you may have before posting, commenting and messaging our modmail.: This helps mitigate the possibility of concerns and misunderstandings.
- Don't speak for diagnosed ADHD children when you were not diagnosed young yourself.: The reality is that ADHDers who were diagnosed as children have a different set of concerns than those who were diagnosed older. Children have no control over their lives, and medical treatment or information. People and parents often share private medical information about the child, among other things. The systematic ableism/targeting puts them at risk for the school-to-prison pipeline. Parents and medical professionals can often put being ablebody/NT over the well being of the child.
